auntiemel 275 Posted November 19, 2014 Anyone else see a gain of a few pounds the week or even a few days before period? I know I haven't been eating different and the scale says I'm up 3 lbs? I guess this is what happens when you go from not having periods forever to actually getting them
Forsythia 882 Posted November 19, 2014 I gain 5 lbs every month because of my period. It's not you, it's your hormones. It will come off. Really lay off the salt and drink even more Water. If you are swollen a diurex helps in a pinch.
BitterSweet* 835 Posted November 19, 2014 Water retention is a necessary evil of the monthly visitor. It is worse if one consumes lots of processed and sodium laden foods and beverages. The retention is needed so that things actually "flow" out of the body, and once that begins to subside, the weight gain will also dissapear.
auntiemel 275 Posted November 19, 2014 Perfect thanks! I thought "NO WAY can I be going up!" Kinda scared me for a second. I stalled last week so I'm assuming it's hormones and Water weight. Grrrr
mhugueley 45 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) I have PCOS and have not had a period in 18 months and the day of surgery I started spotting and 8 days later I am still going going going....its the mother of all flows. Ugh! The first few days I didnt barely lose anything and felt so bloated and uncomfortable and horrible cramps on top of pain from surgery. BUT as I focused on my liquids that went down and I was officially down 17 lbs from surgery day yesterday at my one week post op!! I just wish mrs flow would go away....I have not missed these. But I find its so funny that my body reacted that way....Iv heard of many PCOS people starting right after surgery after not having one for a long time and then becoming more regular as they lose. Its funny how our bodies recognize the change before we do. Edited November 19, 2014 by mhugueley
auntiemel 275 Posted November 19, 2014 I have PCOS/insulin resistance and didn't have a regular period for years! It took about 30 lbs lost before having one last month and now I'm about a week out if I have regulated at all. I am keeping track on an app to see any trends. I want to have kids so bad and that's one of the reasons I really wanted and had the sleeve done. I'm hoping when I make it to goal I get pregnant right away. I tried for years and then gave up, and specialists tell you to lose weight first so here I am!

mhugueley 45 Posted November 19, 2014 Also I swear it feels like my facial hair has already started growing slower and my complexion looks better then it has in a loooooong time. It could be my mind playing tricks on me....but it sure feels like its the case. My hubby even commented on how refreshed and pretty I look.

mhugueley 45 Posted November 19, 2014 I bought a Tria but it is soooooo painful on my face that I can not stand to use it! I am saving for laser hair removal. Next project!
auntiemel 275 Posted November 19, 2014 Laser hair removal hurts! I did it years ago and my face was red and bumpy for a few days. The silk'n doesn't hurt even on highest setting. Only spot that gets a tad sensitive is upper lip. I've used it on my face, legs, arms, and armpits without jumping like I did with laser hair removal. It was worth every penny!
