Are there any others who are getting sleeved on December 4th?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is on Dec 1st. Is anyone starting preop diet, eating Thanksgiving dinner and go back to preop the next day? Just curious.

I'm december first too...

However, I am in Australia so I'll be 24 hrs before you guys.

I am feeling down as I can't stop eating, I'm supposed to be on the liquid diet! It's like they put you in one last diet to fail before the sleeve. I feel disappointed in myself but I take anxiety meds and they make me want to eat constantly. ;(

Dec 3rd here, my diet is same as Lisa's, except I can't do the Jello... GROSS!! I hate it with red hot passion :( hehe, it's a texture thing... I anticipate some challenges when I get to my pureed diet since I don't do weird textures very well :) Will be very interesting!!

Mine is Dec4th!! this is day 5 of my liquid/one 300 calorie meal week. last night was hard.. we watch food network a lot.. (I went to school to be a pastry chef didn't complete thought but it is a passion of mine) and they were making calzones!! I just looked at my husband and told him I'm going to bed to dream about pizza lol. But I'm doing ok. I feel lightheaded a lot if I get up too fast but I haven't passed out yet so I see that as a plus lol.. question though is anyone working out during their per op diet? I thought about it I may go to the gym to day and lift some weights no cardio most def will pass out then.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
