I agree with the puréed diet triggering the full factor and your physical/visual satisfaction. It is real - tangible food you are blending.

I am 10 days post-op and gradually adding pureed items into my diet this week.

I had chicken breast with honey- mustard tonight. It was heavenly!

I'm sorry you are still not feeling great. When I was still in pain it was hard to tell between hunger, acid and pain. Now when I wake up after about 30 min I feel hunger and I'm recognizing that feeling. I drink 8 oz if milk/protein powder over ice and it takes me about 30-45 min. Right after I can tell I'm not hungry. But about an hour later I feel it again so I try some hot broth seems to feel full longer. The Jello was taking space and not helping with the Protein and hunger and I can only take about 4 small bites and I feel a little pain so my sleeve is full.

My doctor said after about a minute and a half whatever you ate will kind of passed down and then I have another bite and keep doing it until it's been about a half an hour since you started eating. Makes you feel full longer but hard to eat so slow.

Trying to figure out if you can try Greek yogurt instead of Jello through the day. I eat a few bites from one yogurt a few times through the day to keep something on my stomach longer. It really helps me feel full. I am definitely not starving and the weight is just falling off.

I'm also mixing two scoops of GENEPRO flavorless Protein in 16 oz blender ball with crystal light powder and I drink that as my liquids but they also have protein in every sip. I can get 60 grams protein just in that 16 oz of crystal light.

Hopefully getting more protein between meals can help you stay fuller longer ???? try the warmer fluids also it feels better than cold I seem fuller.

Good luck!

You're 5'6" and weighed over 300 pounds pre-op.

You haven't had any surgical complications. You've lost 18 pounds.

Yet not even two weeks post-op you "regret" this surgery? Seriously?

That's the reason for my yawn.

don't be a douche. Either offer some support or keep your mouth shut. We all go through our stages. From what I read it's very normal.

I am appreciative to the others who have given great insight and makes sense. 2 days to pureed!

I agree with everyone. I felt the same way at one point. when you start eating mushy foods ( I hated this stage), you will feel full. Continue on your doctor's plan. It will get better.

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. We have all been there...

Acid does feel like hunger, many of us were put on PPIs for the first few months post op since the tummy produces more than our small capacity needs and it takes awhile to settle down.

Also, my NUT told me that the nerves are cut and sensations are wonky/not to be trusted the first approx 6 weeks. In the early months, I ate by the clock and measuring spoon/cup rather than intuitively based on hunger. i did switch to intuitive eating probably 3-4 months post op and have been doing that since then.

I am nearly 3 years post op.

One thing that helped me get through the gray days was looking at people's before and afters, reading inspiring stories and visualizing success. It helps to keep focus on the why you did this in the first place and what your aspirations and dreams of success are. Down the road, when you are feeling good, looking good, improved health etc., what you are going through now will be a distant memory. Hang in there.

Hang in there! When you are allowed to eat something that doesn't slide right through you will start to feel some restriction and the fullness that we all talk about. But alas there must be time for healing first. Sounds like you are doing a good job of getting in your Protein and Fluid though! When I really want something but don't "need" anything I reach for a sugar free bomb pop popcicle. Love those things! Or try distracting yourself. Anything to get you through. You can do this!

Imagine a funnel. Pour liquid in the funnel. What happens?

Now, imagine that same funnel. Pour some finely chopped (or pureed) fish, or mashed potatoes. What happens?

That's your sleeve. Be confident that the thicker foods will do their job ;)

I'm only a few days post-op, but I've found it rather helpful to keep reminding myself that a growly, rumbly tummy at this point doesn't necessarily mean I'm hungry. Everything smells amazing though, so it's difficult. :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
