yungshi 58 Posted November 18, 2014 So I've been out the hospital for a whole day now, and the gas pains come and go...but when they do come, it feels like nothing but a bunch of food sitting in my chest! So uncomfortable!! I've been using gas x strips and they've helped a lot. I also feel like hot tea & broth makes it feel better. When I swallow any liquid, I sometimes get this feeling of throwing up but it ends up being a burp or hiccup coming up. I explained this feeling to my nurse and she said basically the liquid and gas are competing for the space and as the liquid goes down, the gas is coming up. Another problem I had today was the pain/soreness from my incisions. I actually drove to school today and the seatbelt was rubbing all over my stomach. So I've put a pillow in the car for future purposes. Even through all of that, I'm still happy I had this surgery! No regrets whatsoever!

Quest4TheNewMe 225 Posted November 18, 2014 I was cleared to drive as long as I wasn't taking the narcotic pin meds. Had surgery last Thursday and drove to the grocery store and to pick up my daughter from school today.
