How much you can pack into a pair of pants....

Recommended Posts

its so funny that you started this thread. I am wondering the same thing. I have lost 50 lbs and altho my clothes are a bit on the loose side, I can still wear my same jeans and tops. I will say my shoes are alot looser so I guess I lost most of my weight in my big toe :)

I'm at 44 lbs down and I am also still wearing the SAME jeans! They are getting a little baggier, but DAMN! I would love to think I've truly lost a size...

Congrats on the 44 lbs..but I have to say...damn I am depressed LOL No seriously I am thrilled that I am down in weight and I am feeling much better than I have in a long long time. I just want to look good as I am losing also. Boy talk about having your cake and eating it too LOL. Hmmmm maybe cake wasnt such a good word to use :)

DID SOMEONE SAY CAKE??? LOL!

I've lost 45 lbs, and am down 2 sizes in pants, and all my pants are sort of snug at the waist, and baggy in the butt/legs. I'm barely one size down in tops. All my shirts are getting really loose in the shoulder/chest/arm area, and they're still snug around my middle. My spare tire just won't deflate. I'm wondering right now if it will ever be gone, no matter how much weight I lose.

The smaller you are the more 20 lbs makes a difference on your body. For me at 250 I can loose 20 lbs and still look the same and wear the same clothes. For my best friend who is 130 20 lbs would make a huge difference and probaly would drop at least 2 sizes.

Susan----LOL...oh you're making me laugh, I had the same thing going on here. I've since dropped 4 sizes, but was stuck in the same size pants for a while thinking----wth did I look like before....you gotta work with what you got!

I have a family member who works in the fashion industry. They use 15 pounds as the "standard" between 2 sizes but that only applies up to size 14.

I know my clothes were VERY tight when I was 351 pounds and I was able to wear my 4 x tops and 28-30 pants for quite some time. I'm down about 80 pounds now and wear a 2X top and a 22-24 pant.

I read something quite interesting about the weight loss "people" you see in the magazines. Many times, the before picture is actually the "after" and the after is how they began. Companies pay "models" to gain 30+ pounds for those before shots. Because the models are natually thin, they lose what they gain fairly easily. It's similar to movie stars who gain weight to play a role and then lose it once filming is over.

I agree Katherine...you have to work with what you got although I wish I wasnt working with so much. No seriously I am happy with what I have lost so far and I need to apply more engery to my work out program and I am sure that I will see some sort of change in where the weight is and where it isnt! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Stay safe

Susan
