Sleeving Today! November 17th!

Recommended Posts

I feel like it is Christmas morning! I am so excited - not nervous at all. Yesterday was the hardest day of pre-op - not sure if it was because it was the second day of Clear liquids or because it was the day before surgery.

I have lost a total of 31 pounds since July, 17 pounds on pre-op diet!

To all my other sleevers having their surgery today: WE GOT THIS!!!! It is here and we will be amazing!

To the others having it this week: Hold on your time is near!

I report at 7:30. Getting my kids off to school and then hubby and I are heading to the hospital (in town). I am hoping that surgery will be about 9:30 ish. I will post as soon as I can back on this thread.

Woo Hoo!!!!!

I am at home feeling great! But I am tired still so I will be flopping around the house and taking naps. I believe the gas might almost be gone. Finally slept more than 1.5 hours at a time. Hospital staff was wonderful.

What a great decision I have made!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
