downsizingdiva 459 Posted November 17, 2014 I fully intend on asking my surgeon at my next appointment but do most people get instructed to NOT take the meds the day of surgery?
capecoralgrandma 44 Posted November 17, 2014 Before any surgery, a nurse from the hospital will call you the day before with your instructions including what medications you can or can't take. They will have all your information supplied by your surgeon.

GRobert 3 Posted November 17, 2014 I was told to take them the morning of surgery with a little sip of Water but had to take other meds the night before surgery.
Forsythia 882 Posted November 17, 2014 Your team will let you know. Once I went in for pre-op testing, I was instructed to bring a list of my meds, supplements and dosages and they determined what I was to take and to stop taking before surgery. Friday before surgery (since I was Monday first am), the intake nurse called to confirm the details with me.
tbyrd316 10 Posted November 17, 2014 My surgeon told me to take my prilosec but not my blood pressure medication as they can give that to you in your IV
