Hi all! Hope you are all having a super day. Phyll, have a safe trip. Karri, it will all work out for the best. Knowing is the most frustrating. I know. I know there are other things I want to say, but it's all a blur right now. I guess I'll have to go back an reread so I remember what is going on with everyone.

About yesterday.....the saga continues. Yesterday morning I left for work and before I can get out of town I get a phone call that my son has a bloody nose at home and can I come back. Long story short it was an INSANE bloody nose and we ended up in the emergency room. When the doc finally got there she treated me like I was crazy....but he bled for over 20 minutes at home and soaked half a roll of paper towels...and then for another 20 minutes at the emergency room. All that from sneezing!

Then we went for his planned appointment in another town and she was really concerned about his double vision and decided to do an MRI. Which then got me ALL KINDS of concerned....but it ended up showing nothing. She likes how the bipolar meds are working and doesn't think the vision is a result so she wants to continue that. I'm not convinced but I'm willing to wait it out. He doesn't seem overly bothered by the vision thing and it happens very sporadically. I just don't know.

So it was a crazy day. I wasn't ready for a sub and really felt like I let a lot of people down. And then with all the worry and stress I found myself eating just to eat. Nothing horrible for me, just more often than I should have and more at a time than I should have. I can't wait until Monday and a fill so that I'm not hungry all the time. This month has been so super hard without the band helping me. I've still managed to lose this month, but not like I wanted to.

Oh...but shopping yesterday I fit into LARGE shirts!!!!! And I tried on a 14 pant....not 14W.....and it fit!! I didn't buy because I'm going for fill next week and think it will be better by the beginning of next month....so I only bought some tops to go with my loose 16's. From tight (over tight) 20's to 14's since December! That is so great!!! Yeah me!!!

Yes Stephanie--Yeah for you! You're going to need a whole new summer wardrobe--no point in buying clothes now, except for a few things to get you through the rest of the school year. You are going through a bad time now with your son. It's got to be really hard; it seems that every time you turn around there is something new with him. Just remember that you know and love this kid more than anyone else and while the doctors may have a lot of academic info, what you feel in your heart is important too. Don't be afraid to tell them what you think and ask questions.

Phyl--drive save! I'll be looking for the next post!

Margo is the 1 1/2 year old that I babysit for on Wednesday afternoons. Mom and dad are divorcing and mom had to go back to work, so I'm helping out a little. She's a great little girl--lots of fun to play with. Mom taught her sign language, so we can actually communicate a little although she's starting to talk now too. She's sleeping now. Margo was one of my incentives to have surgery. I was trying to feed her a bottle last spring and couldn't hold this little baby on my lap. I couldn't sit on the floor. I just felt like a blob. I thought to myself that it would be so sad to not be able to feed my own grandchildren or play on the floor with them. Now I can hold Margo comfortably on my lap and get up and down from the floor easily. Every time I do I think God for my lap band!!!

I want cookies! :)

The only thing stopping me from gorging myself is the fact I don't have any here. :sigh::crying::glare:

That's a good thing. That's a very good thing. I'm here because I need to be. I don't need the Cookies, I need this forum. But I want the cookies though. I love the cookies. Cookies love me.

No. Cookies are not my friend. Cookies will make me sad and mad. But they taste wonderful.

Even my mouse pad looks edible!

GAH!!!!!!!

I hate the days when my choice of user name is appropriate!

Ok no friggin Cookies ladies :):sigh: - I mean it :glare:- or Karri and I are going to come and lock you up in jail and throw away the keys.:lol::blink:

Come on lapband surgery - remember - if we could just stop at one it would be ok - but since we can't - don't even start - Cookies are the DEVIL - THEY GOT YOU FAT IN THE FIRST PLACE.. They don't taste good they are full of sugar and fat - which just turns to uglier fat on your body and even worse the scales won't move DOWNwards on your weight in days and then you will be crying the blues... Why - I am so mad at myself - Well if you don't do it - you won't be mad at yourself - go make a fruit salad - add some nuts & sf cool whip - make a alba choc shake and add a banana... Anything but a cookie...

tough band love (operative word being love )

And linda do you want those cookies or your wine that you budget for:tongue:

Good job ladies. NO Cookies. Amen to what Janet says. This is precisely the reason that we do NOT have anything bad in our house.

FINALLY GOOD NEWS!:crying: The waiting, wondering, and worrying are all over. Just like everyone said the best situation would appear. Thanks for putting up with me:wub:. This doctor blew me out of the Water. She answered all of my questions BEFORE I even asked them. She detailed EVERYTHING that I would go through. So the prices was a little higher than I had hoped, but is still within my budget. My surgery will be July 3. Two days after my birthday!!!! The greatest b-day gift I will ever get!

Well I have been up since before 4AM so I am going to go take a nap and then go to the gym. Have to post on my other threads but will talk later.

REMEMBER. NO COOKIES!

I made it too. My son came home from school and I got busy helping him with homework. Now the cookie monster is sleeping and I'm feeling better.

And thanks as always Janet.

Good Morning Gang

Phyl the cippino sounds great I have always wanted that and bul-u- base (sp - just sound it out:biggrin:) Ya remember the days where we ate the bread, Soup, salad and our dinner - then wanted dessert :scared2::lol::eek:

Yeah, the whatever... cioppino?? Was great!

And yes, I remember those days... like my daughter last night. Dinners came with Soup OR salad and she wanted both. She wanted clam chowder, but she also wanted the salad with ranch dressing. So she told me not to order ala carte (which the waitress had gotten permission to do for me) because she would eat my salad. So she had all that, and some bread, and her fish and chips, and then she was in the BR w/cramps, ETC like 3X before we left the restaurant... no gall bladder + fried food...plus rich clam chowder...lots of cream and butter in it I"m sure.. and she already was not feeling well... sinus thing going on... so she was miserable when we left the restaurant. Yeah, I used to do things like that!!

About yesterday.....the saga continues. .....So it was a crazy day. I wasn't ready for a sub and really felt like I let a lot of people down. And then with all the worry and stress I found myself eating just to eat.

Sorry you are having such drama in your life!!

Sounds like our oldest daughter! She is having teenage problems with an almost 18 yr old. They went to a movie together last night. Then they got in a big fight over something stupid. So she "moved out" , but then her friend called at like 1 a.m. because she was taking DGD to ER with severe back pains & 102 fever, etc! So she was at the ER with her all night and now she's back home. She has to take her at 9 p.m. tonight for an MRI of her back!!

I'll tell you what I keep telling her...

"this too will pass"!!

Sometimes when I want to really get her attention,

I remind her of something SHE did to ME when she was a teenager!!

Congrats on the shopping NSV!!

Phyl--drive save! I'll be looking for the next post!

Thanks, Linda!

NO cable, satellite signal or antenna signal here,

BUT we do have free Wi-Fi.

They must have improved it since we were here in Nov because then I could only get the signal when we were parked in front of the office. It's good and strong at our RV site tonight!

So here I am again!!

We're going to be watching old recorded stuff on our TiVo tonight.

And we're having a special bottle of wine for

DH's 65th birthday today.

I want cookies!

The only thing stopping me from gorging myself is the fact I don't have any here.:crying::scared2:

Cookies are OUR ENEMY!!

You did good to resist. We've got to stick together in this!!

No cookies in the house is the safest way to go. Or buy cookies that you hate if someone there has to have them. You could put them in the freezer, but then

you'd probably figure out they aren't that bad frozen!!

Good for you Ruby, Sometimes when I get a craving like that I give myself a certain amount of time. When the times up I give it a little more. Pretty soon its time for a real meal, and that usually takes care of the craving. Once in a while the craving persists for days. That's when I usually give in--but just a little. Glad it worked for you too!

Thanks Ruby. Cookies do sound good. H-m-m-m don't got none. Oh well, What I really want is a pepsi (non-diet) I think so.....don't have any of that either. Oh well, I'll just finish my third bottle of Water in less than a half hour. It sure ain't pepsi. OH WELL, THIS TOO, SHALL PASS. i hope. The only thing that's saving me right now is the fact that my cupboards (and fridge) are bare.

SO RESIST. OUR scales WILL THANK US FOR IT.

Thanks for working through it with me. I've just checked the calendar and Aunt Flo is due next week, so that'll probably count for the cookie craving. I may have an attack for the next few days until she arrives, so I need to keep myself busy. I've got a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle here somewhere, that should keep me out of the cupboards for a little bit. And there's always my books. I have plenty of SF gum in the cupboard, so maybe I should just chew on some of that to get me through when the cravings are really bad.

I'm just thankful I didn't have any Cookies in the cupboard. The sensible me is the only one that's allowed to go shopping these days and won't buy them. I've gotten those 100 calorie packs a few times, but noticed I tended to reach for an extra pack or two when the demons pay a visit. So I stopped buying those.

Sometimes I feel like a junkie. Not that I've ever had a problem with alcohol or drugs, but it's like I have this need and it SHOUTS at me to be satisfied. At least when you give up those addictions you stay completely away from them. Our addiction is food and we still have to eat. :huh2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
