Janet - My scales didn't go up when I started eating again. It has slowed down cause during the month that I was so tight I had lost 15 pounds. I have lost only 2 during the last week, but I am perfectly fine with that. I am really tight this morning though. I think it is stress from the job. We have grades due on Monday and the kids decided that now is the time to turn in all of the work that they haven't done and expect that it will be graded as soon as it hits the basket!:cool2: Pisses me off.

Well speaking of that grading and test taking I got to get busy.

Karri

I don't know how you went a whole month (i really can cuz of the travel and taking time off work- i will be gone for 2 hrs and I hate leaving work during the day - I am too routine) .... I can really feel your pain now literally...

Well it's good to know that they scales won't move up - well as long as I don't over do it when I can eat. :rolleyes2:

Happy Birthday, I was going to do this before I left for work this morning because you never know when I get home. Hope you have a good one. Next year will be a landmark one. Always remember age is an attitude. You're only old as you feel. If you are over the hill that is 100% better than being under the hill. :rolleyes2:

Wow! It's been a long time since I've been able to check in - finally got my internet re-wired after the ice storm...so impressed with everyones successes! The pictures are great! I'm off to make something for supper, then a walk on the treadmill. My hubby got me a i-pod touch for Christmas, so I've been watching movies and listening to an audio book while I walk - makes it a little more exciting. Hope everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work. Kim

Now, you KNOW I like the shirt!!:rolleyes2:

LOL, I knew you'd appreciate that. Was a "what'd you bring me back" gift from my parents when they went on an Alaskan cruise last year

Ok Where is everyone - I thought we were suppose to be having a party.. I was told that Phyl bringing the wine - Peaches bringing the cake....

I am ready - can't friggin eat - so guess what my bday dinner is going to be...

It's really bad - I mean really bad - I might change my mind - but I have fried the bacon added the flour - all I need is the milk and potatoes - that's right my most favorite comfort food - cream (white) gravy over soupy mashed potatoes (usually rice but don't dare try rice right now),...

But I got on the scale when I got home and it said 180.5 - that's 69.50 lbs gone in 6 and 1 1/2 weeks - do I really want to mess with that. But nothing is offical until Thursday my weigh in day...

I pickup up my new glasses after work today - I can't read with out readers and have a very slight distant problem - well they are progressive lens - omg I have a headach and have to keep moving my head to keep things in focus. I don't know if I am going to get use to them - well - I wear them to work and see how they are on that computer - I am so use to seeing the whole picture with my readers - with these it's just a couple of sentences and not the whole text without moving my head all around to focus.. I am dizzy - ya it's ok call me a dizzy blond... cuz right now I am - sort of sick to my tummy..

Well, since i wrote down my menu - I am feeling bad about it - come on now Janet - Cream Gravy - I have had 290 calories today - 3/4 pt drink and almost 1 c of Soup for lunch (a gf took me to lunch and called me nicole richie and said she got off easy) - that's 710 calories left - Tatoes - 200 - gravey 300 max and 1/4 cup cake - 140 - oh ya - Kari said calories don't count today..

so I guess I will have my 1/2 cup tatoes & gravey for dinner and 1/4 of a cupcake ...

My GS came home and gave me a beautiful card... It made me cry - and one of my insured's - called and wished me happy bday - I told him that was so sweet - we have a great relationship (he loves my voice on the phone - he says I have a 900 # kind of voice:redface:) and we have never met in person - it keeps the mystery - he has a gf - it's not like that but was soo sweet for him to call and i don't know how he knew today was my b-day - I have his info since I write his insurance and I always send him a happy bday email or call..

Well, that's been my day so far ... it's 7:20 - going to go fix me something to eat - i guess - feeling pretty bad about my choice right now - may just can the whole gravy thing...

Will ck back in a bit..

But really gang - thanks for all the birthday wishes - The really meant alot to me today... I Love you all.....

Janet if it makes you feel better I had nachos from taco bell today. Okay so I did replace the beef with Beans and left off the cheese sauce, but they were still nachos! As the official food cop/angel sidekick I give you permission to eat them. Besides what the hell else can you eat! I was terribly tight this morning and it is causing me to be hungrier later in the day which is not good for me. But back to you. Remember 98% of the time you can be good. Your birthday is part of the 2%. Now if you say that you are going to have that for dinner tomorrow night then your band daughter will come and kick you in the hiney. But today eat em up!

For heaven's sake!! Have the gravy!! It's your BIRTHDAY!! Your calorie count is pretty okay, especially on your birthday! Stop feeling guilty about it!!

Yeah, wonder where everyone is tonight!??

I have progressive lenses... didn't have any trouble adjusting, but DH could not handle them... same complaints as yours. Give it some time, but you might not be able to wear them.

I never pb'd when I was so tight. I just had incredible pain. I am pouting for you! It is amazing to me that some people are as tight as you are and keep going back for more because they are hungry. I want to shake them and tell them that the reason they are hungry is not because they are too loose, but rather because they are too tight. I am way looser than I was before, but even now the dang thing is so tight in the morning that it is hard for me to find foods that will keep me full for the 4-5 hours that I have to wait between meals and not cause me pain. Yogurt just doesn't cut it.

Okay well back to Biggest Loser...this show is ticking me off. The stupid little games they play. I know for those people who don't understand what it is like to be overweight it is the only thing that would keep them watching. But I still don't have to like it.

Nighty night

Janet - Sorry I'm late....time difference here ya know!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yes, I'm here at the party! Brought all sorts of things (leftovers from a potluck that we had tonight - the theme was "game meat"). So we have:

Sweet and Sour Musk Ox (was WAY good!)

Moose meat spaghetti (that was me)

Dried fish strips (my kid loves 'em)

Seal meat chunks over rice (not the favorite, but gotta try it once)

Sauted goose meat with onions (pretty good)

Moose steaks

Baked salmon

Tundra berries (blueberries, salmonberries, cranberries with sweetened condensed milk - YUM!)

Blueberry pie

And my favorite: moose sausage stuffed with olives and jalapenos!!!

Funny...meat usually gets stuck on me and I didn't have trouble with anything tonight! YUMMY food (even for game meat!)

NSV: I wrapped a REGULAR towel around myself after a shower today! I usually use a "bath sheet"...and Andrew was holding me close tonight at the potluck and said that I was getting smaller. Nice completment...AND he kissed me in front of everyone (this is big...he thinks that since he's the Sergeant he shouldn't do those things in front of his peers and underlings).

Anyway, hope you had a great day Janet!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
