OMG - you are hot...... I can see why the old men were after you..

and yes why the indians were so protective... GREAT Pictures!!

We don't have and A&F here in the Desert but in Los Angeles they do - my grandson has a tee shirt and sweatshirt from there = We have holister (surfer store) and my GS gets 99% of his clothes from there.

Tee shirts & jeans...

No much up with me - work - home - gym - thats about it - My sister was here while you were in NY had a nice visit - going to see Earth Wind & Fire in January and Stevie Nicks in February... We do get some good entertainment here in the desert cuz of the indian casinos - we have 6 within a 40 mile distants.. 1 Palm Springs 1 Rancho Mirage 2 Indio 1 Coachella and now 1 in Salton Sea.. It's a good thing i'm not a gambler - but between the 2 in indio (where I live) we get some good groups..

I am boring - I have already done the bar scene in my 20's 30's and it's not that attractive for a 50+ women to be hanging at bars all the time - I sure don't want to be confused with a bar-fly... Plus the kind of guys you meet there aren't about anything - guys my age like girls your age - you know how it goes - I am happy with my non-drama life ;)

Don't forget Morongo!! My favorite! I like to play slots but DH usually only lets me have $20!! Why bother! When I go to NY I go with my sisters to Seneca Niagara (in Niagara Falls) and play slots. I like to go to Morongo on Thurs. nights when they have seafood buffet! $7.77 if you put $10 in the slots! But I found out you can put the $10 in, play a couple of times and cash out!! I'm so bad!! LOL I don't really like the slots at Morongo. I never win anything.... or see anyone else winning anything!

Ya I forgot them - I got cut off at the bar there once with my DH & BIL - and we weren't even drunk - had a good buzz - but no where close to being drunk.. See I have had my days hanging in bars :0)

Okay... now I need to know what are CORNELL NOTES AND PERIODIC TABLES?????

Dini,

Your pictures are great!! I looked at them on your website last night. You are SOOOO young!! "Auntie Phyl" could be your GRANDMOTHER!! I feel so old now! LOL

So sorry you had such a bummer of an experience in NYC. My oldest daughter and granddaughter went for a couple of days last summer and one of my sisters, Barb, went with them. Barb moves at about the same pace as your friend does! And she did not bring walking shoes with her, so her feet were hurting and she couldn't keep up. GD, Alisha, is 17 yrs old and she is a GOER!! She had an agenda of things she wanted to see and do, like finding the guys that sell fake Coach purses, etc. and, from what I was told, Barb was quite miserable and Alisha was frustrated! They did have a good time, though, and managed to fit in everything on Alisha's schedule. NYC really is a neat place, so it's too bad you had such a frustrating time! Indian men are male chauvenists!! They were probably pissed because you thought it was okay for two gals to be traveling unaccompanied.

Cornell Note is a way of taking notes The Learning Toolbox - Cornell Notes

you just don't write them on a sheet of paper - divide the note paper in 3's and write key points in one section - notes in another and summerize at the bottomc... This was for a 6th grader... I told the teacher the hardest thing I did in High School was a book report and got an A on that - Phyl school is so very different than when we went - I can't help with homework - logic problems ??? greek to me...

W rite notes.

  • The large box to the right is for writing notes.
  • Skip a line between ideas and topics.
  • Don't use complete sentences. Use abbreviations, whenever possible. Develop a shorthand of your own, such as using "&" for the word "and".

Dini, Let me echo Janet I think it was in saying you are HOT!!!! Wow! I'd like to see a before picture of you, but I mean WOW!

To be 24 again!!!!

Anyway, I'm still losing, slowly, but surely. My 3rd fill appt keeps getting pushed back. It was supposed to be at the end of November, but it's been rescheduled a few times. Which is fine with me, I'm not going to get a fill. Don't need one. Two were enough. I've got enough restriction to do it I think. Maybe it will loosen up some next year, just don't know. So, I'm mainly going for an official weigh in. I think the Doc will be pleased.

Baked a bunch of cakes for friends and co-workers as usual this year. Only had one piece myself! There are three holiday meals with friends or co-workers this week, but it will soon be over and it's going good.

NSV, tried on an XS, extra small, sweater yesterday and it was too big!!!! Tried on a bunch of Small petites. Let husband buy me several things for Christmas. Finally came to the realization that just because it's pretty and fits, you don't buy it like you did in the past. You look at it more critically and say, yeah of course it fits, but does it really do something for me or is it just okay. In the past, if it was a good color and fit, you'd just buy it to have something.....NO MORE!!!!! Let Freedom Ring! ;)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
