Amen, Ruby! I'm not really hiding out on the recipe threads even though my feathers got a little ruffled. Didn't think I said anything that offensive. If so, so sorry! It is possible to disagree without anger. I wore my pink "Read My Lipstick" t shirt, complete with pitbull, today which prompted a very pleasant discussion with a guy in Starbucks who turned out to be an Obama campaign volunteer!

Anyway, useless RV park WiFi sucks and signal too weak all day to get email or websites! My thumbs are getting a workout typing on my Blackberry! Plain black font, no signature=Blackberry! Unfortunately, major source of my amusement is my silly games.... Scrabble and a couple I play on Facebook... Speed Racing, Parking Wars and Kidnap! I've probably been "kidnapped" by my friends a bazillion times by now... especially my daughter.

Later, Chicks!

Phyl; Don't you go anywhere, you belong here always... I agree with the other ladies, time to move forward. How is Earl today? My DH and I went to see our Inv. Counselor today.. he says hold the line, everything will come back eventually.. we just have to wait it out. We are not starting to live on our retirement money for 7 more years so we have time to let things recoup. I also asked him if it was a good idea to be watching the numbers daily on the news. He said NO, it just drives you nuts... I especially wanted my HUBBY to hear that!!!

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference."

I'm off to watch a movie with DH..

No exercise today.. going tomorrow!

just had Cheerios and Skim milk = 190 cals

Good Morning Gang...

I didnt even get on the computer last night !!! My kitchen faucet broke and to go get new connection then went to Super Target AGAIN...

Got 2 pair of shoes - tried on clothes - cute knit dress - but it hits right above the knee - and it was VERY VERY BECOMMING body wise - but my legs are awful saggy.. I didn't get it - may go back cuz with a pair of tights & boots it would be cute - I gotta say dressing rooms with all the mirrors and lights can really ruin a good shopping spree - I can't wait til 12/2 to see the PS Doc -

Candice - you did really good calorie wise - hope you get to the gym today ... Yep I thought the blackberry tea was good and with cooler weather on the way (I think phyl brought it to the desert - it's supppose to be only 76 today and that's almost cold for us:biggrin:)

Well, I am flaking on the gym this morning - just don't feel like it I a tired even though I have been up since 6:30 - gotta try and fix my sink and if I can't do it - will call my nephew to come and help... Maybe will clean out the garage and replace some lights outside... Who knows, maybe I will do nothing :)

:Dancing_biggrin:Who wants to dance with me?!?!?!

This morning's weigh-in puts me at 168.6!!! Weeeeeeee! I've finally gotten out of the 170s. I am SO pleased with that. I stopped trying to get my calories up to target allowance on the days I was short. It just seemed silly having to eat something bad to give me more cals at the end of the day. Plus it was making me fall back into bad habits, wanting to eat ice cream every night. So I was a good girl this week and just took each day as it came. If I was short on cals, I didn't try to make up for it at the end of the day or the following day. Each day started anew.

I know I haven't kept up with the updates here, but I seem to have been busier than usual this week. I haven't had any extra chores to do, I just haven't been able to find the time to come here.

Once again I am looking forward to tomorrow's day off. I've really come to love my exercise and when it hasn't been going well for me I've felt like I've wasted a day of no exercise on Sunday. But this week I'm feeling good about it. Last week my body was begging for a break.

I was just so happy to not see a 170 score on the scale this morning. I know it's still possible that I'll go back up over it if this last 6 months is any indication, but this is an new low score for me and I'm over the moon about it. :smile2:

Earl is doing okay today... stock market closed!! He called our inv counselor yesterday and we set up a conference call with him, but not for two weeks! My comment to his secretary.... I hope we still have some money left to talk about by then!! We are not living on that, but need it for extras... like we need a new car. Ours is a 2002 Honda CR-V. I think it's over 80,000 miles on it, but probably an additional 50,000 towed miles as it is our "toad" and gets dragged around a lot!

I quote that serenity prayer a lot, but it doesn't sink in for him!

I'm solidly in to the 230's column now and that makes me happy,

so you must be overjoyed to be where you are!!

Yeah, we probably brought this cool weather with us!! Earl was really complaining about the heat our first couple of days here. I loved it!! I'm cold now and he still wants all the windows open!

Janet... Glossy in DHS has a QVC rack of mark downs... Denim & Co. I saw a couple of cute tops there that I really liked... and I'm pretty sure the XL would fit from the looks of it. But I'd just bought a bathing suit... need to have 2, and it was so nice to buy another 18. I tried on a 20 first! NO, I really do need the 18! Earl couldn't tolerate another purchase, but he found me a cute pair of capris at the Burke Outlet before that, so I can't complain. But next time I get in there, I'm going to check out the QVC rack again. Those tops were long sleeve, so probably close outs from last year. They were marked $18.98 and 30% off everything in the store. Bathing suit cost me $35 and was marked $68.

Only reason I'm on the internet is I brought my laptop over to the library where there is a different wi-fi system. I tried earlier and couldn't get it in another building. So, I"m happy. Raced my race car, moved my parking wars cars! :w00t: And played all my Scrabble turns (sisters, friends, etc). If our system doesn't come back online I'll be back here tomorrow! They're going to get a piece of my mind on Monday morning! I'm paying for WiFi at the motor home!! So I shouldn't have to lug my laptop over here to use the free one! No one in the office on the weekend to complain to!

Good morning ladies!! Hope you all had a great day yesterday. I have to say I didn't.

Yesterday was my son's birthday party. He invited about 15 people...figured about 8 would show up. My biggest fear was realized yesterday....but not for me. No one showed. My heart broke for my son. I know he has problems but it's not like no one ever talks to him. He has a couple of girls texting him all the time, 3 or 4 boys that he pals around with. And no one. I can't even explain the hurt.

And after that I turned to my old standby. I honestly tried to eat my pain away. I knew I was doing it while I was doing it and just didn't care. I had no desire to stop. I know it didn't help. I know all I did was make myself more miserable. But yesterday at least there was some sweetness in my mouth.

Today I'm feeling a little better. I don't think I will be overcome again. I hope not anyways.

Okay...off to get ready for church. I will talk to you all later. Just had to play true confessions.

Oh Steph that's just awful! :crying::sad: I would probably have done the same thing, but still been mad this morning. Our own pain is hard enough to deal with, but when you see your child's it hurts exponentially. Big hugs to the both of you today.

HONEY, I'M HOME ! ! ! ! ! !

I had a fantastic week-end. I am so glad my girlfriends talked me into going. Saw a lot of people I knew............met a lot of people I didn't know. And spent some quality time with my girlfriends. (one from Fla, one from CA and one from Co,) Folks who saw me at the mini reunion six years ago, told me how great I looked, and noticed the weight loss. My friend from Fla. who saw me just last winter, couldn't believe how I looked. All three of them have told me that I shouldn't really lose any more weight, That I am good right now. Just get the belly fat and loose skin off. That I had stick legs and no butt........didn't need to lose more.

Okay, now.............food choices. Fri. for lunch, I had half an Olga sandwich (flat bread, greek) and salad. dinner, split a Ca. Reuben (turkey, cole slaw and russian dressing) with my friend and a bowl of French onion Soup. And One Beer.

Sat. Instead of Breakfast, we went to the exersize room instead. Pedaled for 30 minutes and treadmill for 15. Lunch was a half chick. salad on croissant and a bowl of onion soup. Dinner was a buffet.....mosscacholi (?), small piece of chicken, small piece of beef and half a small red skin potato. Little eclairs for dessert. And some school colors M&M's. And two beers. Then after midnight the reunion moved to the hotel, had a couple more beers and some crackers with dip.13_4_8.gif

This Morning, they had a breakfast buffet for all of us and since it cost me $15.00, I filled my plate full. Half waffle, scrambled eggs w/ham, bacon, and sausage patty. Blueberry muffin. Ended up eating less than half of it. But hey, I tried to get my money's worth. Even if I didn't eat it.

Okay, I will try to check back later. Have a good day.

Kari, Your reunion sounds fantastic. I am so happy that you went and had a good time. Your food choices for such an occasion were not all that bad either. Good for you eating 1/2 of the buffet plate.

My food yest. THANKSGIVING dinner incl. CALORIESCARBSFATPROTEINspacer.gifnt3_totals.jpg1,4741975251

Well it was fun, my DD and SIL2B were up and two of our best friend couples came for dinner so there were 8 of us. Wonderful time, and Damn I am a good cook!!! My Turnip Souffle was a big hit as it is a family fav. I used store bought pumpkin pie but also make SKOR squares for dessert. I too FILLED my plate with everything in sight but then couldn't eat it no matter how hard I wanted to. Not because I was hungry for more, just that I had 'taken' it and it was thanksgiving and in yrs past I always had at least TWO plates of turkey food. DAH! :)

In the morning my DD and I went out to a nearby resort and met with a Wedding Co-ordinator to see where she might like to get married next fall. Well, I tell ya, "I" almost put the downpayment on the place... I am such a sucker~! :) I fell in love with the venue. Its on the bay, waterside ceremoney outdoors under an arbor, there are ducks, geese swimming inbehind on the bay, beautiful Willow trees, and then the mountains off in the distance. OMG I can't imagine a nicer place.

Then indoors, the room is all decorated in asoft blue(grey) satin curtains, panoramic glass windows that look out onto the bay as well.

And the food choices were phenominal! 5 course meal, cake, wine on tables open bar.... everything incl for $85 per person, plus the $1500 for the room... I have NO experience in this but I thought that this was a super price.... anyone have any ideas?

My DD is going to go easy on the dress,($) as this is her 2nd time around and his 1st. I think she'll try and keep it to a long cocktail dress around $500. But then there are flowers... gosh they are expensive!! but can't imagine a wedding without them either?

Big WALK yest. a couple of miles... it was great cause I didnt' get to the gym... but the kids, Dad and Dogs and I went out the weather was just so fabulous. And we could all talk wedding plans while we walked. It was a nice weekend.

Tonight we are going to my MOM's residence and taking the leftover Thxgiving cassaroles and the 3 of us will have our little dinner there. She didn't feel up to coming out to my place with her wheelchair, oxygen etc... I guess I can understand that.

Have a super day everyone, I'll be bhack at work tomorrow:sad_smile:

Didn't get much done this weekend except work. My fill is working great as long as I don't eat any bread products and eat very slowly!!! I have had to redo my schedule at work because I am doing lunch recovery to get my kiddos passing so I don't get lunch AT ALL. So I decided to eat during my prep period which is 9AM so that I can eat SLOWLY. Then I have a buffalo Jerky snack thing that I can eat in Lunch Recovery where I have less time.

This is the first day I am doing it so we will see how it works out. I am back down to "normal" range though as I dropped to 145 yesterday morning!!! Feels good to be back to normal!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
