NewCC = Good for you! I'm glad you marched yourself in that office and took control of the situation. You should be proud of yourself for that. As for the doc, what an a$$hole. He should be responsive regardless of self-pay/insurance. You're his patient. Period. I'm glad you got the antibiotics. You should be good to go now! Take care of yourself. I'm sure the med will work and you'll be better in no time.

Chris = Yay! The time has come! I'm glad that your family is so supportive. That makes a big difference! And I had to laugh about the Aunt Flo comments. See, I made a statement before about how our cycles are now linked...and now your wife's Aunt Flo is here. I told you guys...*Twilight Zone music playing*

Jackie = Congrats on the wt loss!!! That is just the beginning of many more pounds to be shed. WOOHOO!!! Gotta love it.

OnMyWay = Welcome to Twoterville! Byebye to the 300's.

BlueEyedBaby = Hello. We love it when you're talkative. Feel free. Let it all out!

Dini = Hey sweetie!!!

Hello everyone else!!!

Everyone is talking about these Protein Shots. They come in a bullet shaped tube, right? I have some here at the house. They are called New-Whey and are 3 oz tubes of pure Protein, sodium and potassium. sugar free and fat free. They are awsome. I get mine here from smoothie King. Only the most awsome "smoothie" store on planet earth. They are 3.49 per tube and I get the 42 gram ones and sip on them throughout the day. Smoothie King, for those who don't have one nearby, is a Nutrition Smoothie place where you can get your low carb low fat Protein Shakes already made up. And they are truely scrumptious. Better than a chocolate shake. They really are. In fact they are Meal Replacement shakes :hungry: in they are packed full of Vitamins and minerals. They also sell the Protein Powder they use which is also packed full of the vitamins and minerals. It truely is a whole meal in itself. My surgeon loves them. Their protein powder is called The Gladiator and tasts wonderful, at least the chocolate does. That is what I am using and so far everything I have mixed it with has tasted wonderful and that is without having to add any type of sweetener. I would like to get some plain vanilla but will wait a bit as it only comes in a large container that is about $40.

Both are WELL worth the price.

Cate, glad to hear your post-op visit went well! Keep on taking care of yourself and your healing will continue to speed along.

Frustrated, congrats on your wt loss!!! We're all on our way to becoming Hottie Jalotties!!!!

Sunny, yes, I've been sleeping more, too. I've been taking naps and I'm not a nap taker at all. I'm sure it's just our bodies saying, 'Hey, I'm working here on repairing/recovering.' I say we just give in to it and sleep and get as much rest as we need. It can only speed our recovery.

Hey Dini! Doing great. This is my first day back at work. I'm doing fine. I live in Maryland (MD). Miami, FL is about a 15 hr drive away. On an airplane, I could be there in a couple of hours.

Maybe I should come down there w/you!

I'm here at work now. I work from 3pm - 11pm. I'm doing okay. I have a desk job, so no lifting, etc. And everyone here (my immediate coworkers - if that makes sense) knows about my surgery and are super supportive! It is so great. They are like, "You've lost wt already. We can tell." LOL. That works for me. I can't really tell, yet, but I'm sure I will soon and very soon.

That spaghetti sounds soooo good!

I know I didn't exactly have a whole lot to get here, but this morning I dropped under 300, weighing in at 299!!! I just pray I will never see the 300's again now that I am out. My next exciting milestone will be 285, which was my weight right after both of my pregnancies. Even better will be when I hit 250 again, my pre-babies weight! I know I need to lay off of the scale obsession, but I am so happy I weighed this morning!

That's some exciting news!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Keep up the great work!:clap2:

Onmyway, congrats on getting under 300. What a big milestone.

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, Chris. I think its great your whole family wants to go with you. Support is important.

I went to the movies today with friends to see Harry Potter. Big mistake. Movie was good but sitting up that long was very tiring and it hurt. I have been relaxing since I got home and took some pain meds. Because I feel pretty good I think I overdid it. I'll take it easy for the next few days. The pain meds make me sleepy so I imagine I will go to bed early tonight.

Kartrina, I got me a Smoothie King Protein smoothie for the movie and they had those tubes things. I bought the fruit punch one just to get an idea of the taste.

Dini that is exciting about the Miami Ink guys answering and saying they can do the tatoo. Who knows what I am doing in Nov. Maybe Miami would be possible. I sure won't rule it out.

Hi, Chim, Lynette, Kathy, Ruby and anyone else I may have missed.

Hey Sunny! I hear you about the sitting up for extended periods of time. I'm hear at work and I'm about to lean my chair back a bit.

I told Dini I may go to Miami w/her in November. I told her to let me know the details and I'll see. I certainly wouldn't mind!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      3. buildabetteranna

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
