jfk - Thanks for the report! I have been sooo good the last 12 days, I was only required to do pre-op diet for 7 and then tonight with really only one eating day to go I ate carbs. :paranoid I asked DH if we could eat mexican - so I could do chips and queso one last time. I have been really good otherwise so hopefully I won't have caused myself or the Dr. any problems! Glad everything went well for you!! CC

BUT my Red Lobster is just down the street from the hospital where DR DREAMY works!!!!

you'll have to be sure to invite him!

ok, this is soooo irrelevant, but like that's ever stopped me before... in college, my fake ID was actually a Kentucky driver's license (friend of a college roomate). I wonder if I could still do the accent?!! i used to be able to fake it pretty good. of course, here in california, they would get so hung up on the accent and the fact the ID was from somewhere different, they never really paid much attention to the pic! good thing for me!! ;)

dmtjet, are you waiting up for her to come in tonight??

If it was me, I'd be up all night until her head hit the pillow!

Then you'll sleep.< /p>

Sounds like he better make an appt. Not good to have a headache like that! Is his blood pressure okay? Gotta watch that stuff!! There can be some scary stuff!

Yeah, the headache she will have and the one I will have if I stay up all night, lol!! I should at least make a toast and make my headache worthwhile!!! LOL:p

dmtjet, he has been a few times. It's a hereditary thing, and he had high blood pressure the last time we went to the Dr. He' a smoker, and it doesn't help either. He needs to get on something preventive instead of something to take after he gets them.

No, she's not driving! She is staying at one of her girlfriend's apartments tonight! I made her promise to call me if she needed me though! Hopefully, she will have the presence of mind to do that!!! ;)

Icy, I'm just joking with you. I'm actually from OHIO, born and raised. Came to KY when I met my DH about 7 years ago. I have picked up on the southern accent very well, but not to the point where I say "Y'all" and things like that. It comes and goes. My son however, is all Kentuckian. He's a little hick as we call them!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
