My computer has been giving me all sorts of trouble, so I will post a brief message and keep my fingers crossed.

About me: I am 31 years-old, have been married for 8 years to Jeff, and we not have kids, nor do we plan on them. We have two cute kiddies, Bonnie and Becky. We have been living in Central Texas since getting married. I am a Biligual Elementary School teacher, and love, love, love, love, love every minute of it! I want to be healthier to be able to keep up with them.

OK, I will try posting and see if this one goes thru...

It is very very busy but lots of fun having a house full! This particular band is done by a doctor in Houston TX. The main issue with the first band is that it was non adjustable and as all of us know there is no such thing as a one size fits all. So it may work great for some but not be loose or tight enough for others. This is going to be a very different experience for me. They made us eat solids before we left the hospital with the non adjustable band. But I do not regret getting it at the time. The lap-band was just starting to catch on in the U.S. and I did not feel comfortable personally having the bypass. But I was near 300 pounds when I had it done and I weigh 230 now. I know that if I had not had it I would have just kept on gaining. But I am ready to pull the rest of this weight off.;)

Hey! I'm doing good. We definitely miss you. I know all about staff problems. No fun. Sometimes adults act like little kids at times. At times, you're more of a babysitter than a supervisor!

I hear ya about not being a chat room/online talk type person b/c I wasn't, either. And look at us now!!!

How are you doing? Are things going well band/healthwise??? How bout Annafrancesca? Adam?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
