Disney24fan 11 Posted November 16, 2014 I am trying to find a good cookbook to purchase that has healthy recipes for after surgery that I can cook for myself as well as my family. Any suggestions????
WL WARRIOR 692 Posted November 16, 2014 There is someone that posted a cookbook that is a free download (can't remember the name of the original poster). Since there is no copyright, you can print off the download at kinko's and punch-hole it into a binder or book. The web address that has the PDF download is below: www.chicoweightloss/cookbook Again, thanks to who originally posted this great resource!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted November 16, 2014 I like the recipes from Nom Nom Paleo - both the blog http://nomnompaleo.com/ and the cookbook: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GA4L9AA?btkr=1 - although it is not specific for wls, I find the recipes all meet my bariatric team's guidelines and are really good. Wynnie 186 Posted November 16, 2014 The best cookbook I've found is Bob Harper's Skinny Meals and so far my husband loves what I've made. They are all high Protein, low carb, low fat, and the caloric values are perfect as well. I have a very busy work and home schedule and these meals are easy, basic, simple and have a wonderful taste and textures! I downloaded it as an ebook and I just prop up my iPad when I am making these meals. FYI my 14 year old loves it too. Almond crusted chicken with balsamic string Beans is our fav so far! Miss Mac 6,262 Posted November 16, 2014 I agree that Nom Nom Paleo is an excellent resource. Also, My Daily Apple www.mydailyapple.com is another for recipes that do not come from factory foods. Paleo / Primal foods can meet our requirements. Basically those recipes are from meats and low starch veggies.

alwaysvegas 702 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Most post-surgery diets I've seen posted are geared toward high-Protein, lower-carb, and lower-fat lifestyle. I did Atkins for quite a few years and low-carb recipes lend themselves well to a post-sleeve diet, assuming that you moderate the fattier meats and oils used. My favorite site for recipes is at LowCarbFriends. Edited November 16, 2014 by AlwaysVegas
