newbiesleever 57 Posted November 15, 2014 When did you all start eating fruit by itself? I'm going on my 7th week and I'm currently on solid foods. My doctor recommends eating at least 1 fruit of day with Protein. I've been adding a half banana to my protein smoothie in the mornings but wondering when I should start branching out and trying other fruit like berries, oranges, peaches, etc? A mandarin orange sounds so good right now!
Forsythia 882 Posted November 16, 2014 Have an orange. See if it agrees with you. I usually pack an apple for a snack between my meals. But sometimes I mix it up and have a banana or grapes. Some people have trouble with the skin on fruits like apples, plums and whatnot. So you might want to cut and peel them initially. I'm 6.5 months out, so I don't have any issues with the skin (I actually never did, but some people do).

Crystal88 85 Posted November 17, 2014 I finally had a banana today, and had no issues. I still have to remember to take small bites and eat slowly; and I also shared it with my doggies.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm 8 weeks out. I was discharged on full liquids. Some days I would add peaches to Protein Drink. Once I was on soft foods I would puree peaches or pineapple chunks. I am now allowed to eat whatever I can tolerate. So far I've hand peaches, pineapples, grapes, oranges and honey dew. Mind you it's always a quarter cup or less and i can't eat more than half an orange at a time, but I'm getting them in.
