carriekos 25 Posted November 15, 2014 My surgery is in two days and I just got my period. All that weight loss that I have had for two weeks on the liquid diet could be for naught. My doctor told me that if I did not lose 5 lbs before the surgery he wasn't going to do it. I have lost the 5 lbs plus a pound or two and now having my period I will have "gained" that 5 lbs back. Has anyone else run into this problem? I will be so upset if my surgery is canceled because of this.
Brandyjune 28 Posted November 17, 2014 Oh no that's terrible can you call the office and explain to them that you usually gain 5ish lbs around TOM? It would be terrible for them to deny you based on that. Last visit I had with the PA at my surgeons office I had TOM and told her I was up 5 lbs. she just gave me the stank eye, like I was lying about it. Most of the staff is understanding at my surgeons office but she wasn't. At my next appt I was down 13 lbs and she said wow, that's a lot of weight in 2 weeks - and I said to her, it helped that I lost an additional 5 lbs of bloating from my cycle! She just laughed.
