HYDRACOACH INTELLIGENT WATER BOTTLE

Recommended Posts

Has anyone purchased or using the Hydracoach Intelligent water bottle. It has an alarm and timer on it to help remind you to drink your Water and reach your daily liquid intake. I've read good and bad reviews.

The cheapest price on the Hydracoach is at

luckyvitamin.com. It sells there for $19.46 with free shipping. I haven't purchased it yet because there are a few components I am not sure about. You have to suck on the mouthpiece like sucking through a straw. Is it okay to use straws after 6 weeks post op?

I'll be 2 months out on the 18th. I had my hydracoach bottle before my surgery and liked it. It's not the only Water bottle I use. (I'll post my collection a little later), but I find it helpful for lazy days hanging around the house because in those days I literally could just chill in front of the tv or computer. I didn't start using it again until hit 6 weeks.

I am not familiar with that bottle however I did ask my team about using straws going forward and was told to refrain. The reason is that you suck air into your pouch which takes up space, can cause pain and even could cause stretching. I did ask if this was temporary or if forever and was told it was a good idea not to use them for good.

Has anyone else heard this?

I was told that post op they weren't good for that reason. These bottles don't have a true straw, it's more a gravity sort of thing almost like in a child's sippy cup. I bought it in to show on my 6 week check up and was cleared to use it, so I've resumed. So far I haven't had any problems, but like I said I don't use it as my only waterbottle.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
