wdama 1 Posted November 14, 2014 Here's my situation~ I had surgery on July 29th of this year. I am having problems with after 2 bites (which I chew over 25 times) having such a pain in my chest. I usually have to stop eating after that point. I really don't have a problem drinking anything except Water. I feel like my food and water try to come up on me. I can drink my Protein and Bai5 drinks but have issues with water and food. I have lost 72 lbs since my surgery, which I think about the norm. I basically eat Soup because everything else hurts. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated?

Jack Hollywood 20 Posted November 15, 2014 Wdama, Are you sure that you are taking small enough bites? It's one thing to chew 25-30 times, but even that won't work if you are taking the same size bites you used too. I am taking fork or spoonfuls of about the size to two peas. That seemed to help me a bit. I only drink Water but not within two hours of eating. If I drink before I eat, then I can't eat enough food, and if I drink after I eat, there is a good chance that it may come back up. You also mentioned that your pain is in your chest. When you have had too much to eat the pain should be in the upper abdomin area not as high as the chest. You may have a different issue. A gastro problem may not be letting the food go down. Now I just had my gallbladder taken out and that pain came as high as my chest at times, and I knew I had an issue when my urine stream turned almost orange. So keep an eye out for that as well. I wish you the best of luck and continued success.
