Now I've went and done it... Motivation Level set to: EXTREME!

Recommended Posts

So, My lovely wife who constantly puts up with my hairbrained schemes, crazy trips and run-on sentences with grace and patience volunteers at the local chapter of the Assistance League, or as I call it "The League of Extraordinary Ladies".

I went in today to say hello and saw the most wonderful thing. A Goeffery Beene Neimun Marcus full length thick wool overcoat. It was a thing of beauty and a joy to behold. It was a large and ..... only $15. Ahem..... SQUEEEEE!!!

I purchased it. It is too small for me now, but after another 40 pounds.... It won't be.

I just thought I was motivated before, Now... motivation is turbo-charged.

I love that it's not just us girls that are motivated by clothing. I have a gorgeous Calvin Klein coat that I bought a few years ago when I was a size 8 (before I gained it all back) and I'm really looking forward to wearing it again.

I had been thinking about buying a pair of pants in my goal size. I thought maybe that was not a good thing to do. Maybe I should do it <_<

I have a size 18 wool coat with leopard print cuff and collar. It's really a lovely coat and I paid a pretty penny for it. I haven't worn it in YEARS. I'm pretty good about donating things to charity, but I held onto this coat because it was just so pretty. I'm hoping to get back in that bad boy this winter.

Today I fit in a size 14 petite coat that I wore when I was 18. That was 16 years ago!

I'm just hoping for a smaller birthday suit ... might need a lot of ironing with all the wrinkles though.

I always said I wanted to get back into my HS prom dress (size 16: it was beautiful and perfect for my church's anniversary banquet) but I think my mom gave it away :( But I'm gonna try to find one when I get my surgery date and be in it by April (I pray)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
