rachelc7 4 Posted November 12, 2014 Hi everyone, I'm just starting my journey towards a vertical gastric sleeve. I'm so excited, and looking for support before and after the surgery! I'm only 18, and I've struggled with obesity my entire life and inevitably will without this surgery. With the approval of my insurance company, I can be booked for surgery as soon as February! I'm looking for any other teens, or anyone in general, for support.

rachelc7 4 Posted November 12, 2014 Thank you so much, it's so nice having someone to relate to! I'm thinking about getting the surgery during spring break (I'm a freshman in college), we have about 10 days off, and I'm curious if this is enough time for healing post op. I've always been a fast healer, and my mom also had a vgs, and went back to work the following week.
kelseycakes20 110 Posted November 12, 2014 Hi there! Its awesome to see younger people on here like me. I'm 19 and having my surgery next Tuesday! ???? I as well have been overweight my whole life, starting at the age of like 5. I was never able to lose weight with just dieting or diet programs and I played sports up until I hit highschool. Just like you, if I didn't decide to do this surgery I'm 99% sure that I'd be overweight my whole life. Spring break should be a good time to do it. I'm taking next week off at my school and I'll be going back the week after. Message me if you'd like to talk, I'm here for support ????
