I'm in bandster hell

Recommended Posts

Since yesterday I have been super hungry. I found out my band is empty and the swelling must have subsided so now I am starving pretty frequently. Tomorrow I can start mushy food so I'm trying to hold on for one more day until I can start to have something more substantial. Ugh!

Also for some reason on day 7 post op my shoulder pain is so bad it is keeping me up at night. And I'm walking my soon to be small butt off!

My little pity party is over. Thank you for listening.

Try a heating pad to your shoulder. it should help. or stand in the shower with hot Water massaging the area. bandster hell is rough. keep strong because after each fill you get you will have to go on a liquid diet for a few days and than mushies for a few days.

It's a difficult but temporary time. It helped me to have my Protein Shake and nothing afterward for half an hour even though it was all liquids. Protein stayed longer and satisfied longer. I was on liquids for six weeks post op. First fill was at six weeks. I lost 50 pounds before my first fill, so that was very encouraging.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to push through. I've been through too much to go sideways now. I appreciate all the advice and support here. It's a lifesaver.

I'm down 33lbs including loss before surgery so far. My first mini goal is 50lbs.

My gas/shoulder pain lasted a long time too. I feel for ya. After all the post surgery special diets, my doc wanted me to stick to three meals a day. But during that mushy phase, I say eat if you're hungry. I mean, don't go crazy, but you're body has been traumatized by surgery. It may need a few extra calories to heal. Just be as healthy as possible. And keep up the good work! I love seeing you on here and on My Fitness Pal. Do you use Facebook? There's a group I really like. It's closed and private so none of your friends will see your activity on the page. It's called Lapband Support (Private/Closed). If you get on there, I'm Leigh Patterson Clark.

Leepers

I will check out that Facebook group. Thanks. I am so inspired by your success and attitude. I find the MFP keeps it real for me. I can always justify eating just a little of this and that and not journal. Now I journal everything even if it's not so great.

Me too briefs. I'm in the same boat. My first fill is tomorrow and I can't wait. I am ravenous and the only thing keeping me from overeating is me. I need some help from this band!

Actually, Bandster hell is yet to come!!!

Right now, you are at a point where it was before you had surgery.

You had surgery, you're healing, then it is back to square one as though nothing ha happened. people exoect the surgery itself to give them instant results. For the majority of people, it dos not work that way.

All you did was have this thing installed.....Next comes the adjustment phase. Can take months, even as long as a year in some cases before the band begins to do anything.

THAT is bandster hell.....

But hang in there, this thing does work. The first few months for me were very frustrating, to the point I felt it was a big waste of time and money. Just another diet, like i Did and failed so many times before.

But today, it is he best thing I could have ever done....easiest and most simple thing going. I refuse to call this thing a tool...it is much more than that. It is something that physically and permanently changes everything about me and food, eating.

But patience is the key....following your Dr.'s orders and directions....his/her treatment plan for you, to accomplish and get you where you need to be with this....

Many people I feel, loose that patience, that willingness to change, and back off way too soon and accept where they're at instead of moving on....then come here and complain and ask others why this is not working.

Don't let that happen to you.It can be a rough trip the next few months, but the reward on the other side is worth it!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
