I never feel full...

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what I feel. This is an important topic for me. I am beginning my third week. Last week I had a horrible situation...probably dumping... but it was like 2.5 days of torture. Yesterday (TMI) I had the most painful BM I've ever had in the morning and then some residual looser stool in the evening. But I "think" I'm hungry. I get that "hunger" feeling. I eat then.. and feel better. I too am trying to only eat what I'm told. Quarter cup....

I have lost 14lbs since surgery - and the last 2 days...NOTHING. I even went up yesterday and back down today.

Tell me what you all eat? What is your schedule like?

Thanks so much!

Well I'm in my fourth week. So for Breakfast I have either a scrambled egg or 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. lunch I usually have some form of meat and a slice of cheese cut from the block. dinner I try to eat mostly Protein and a veggie. 1/4 cup of protein and 1/4 cup of a veggie. I still never feel hungry. I have to literally look at the clock and know I need to eat. But I just started getting that full feeling this last week.

Hello I am 5 days post op and I don't feel any different! !! I don't feel full when eating my Jello or yogurt. I really just want to eat like some tuna and crackers or some spinach dip. I am starving. What is wrong with me!!??

Same thing was happening to me about the same time. But I was getting dizzy and lightheaded. So my surgeon moved me to the next stage of eating. She said my sugars where off and I needed substance. I feel full now. About the last two weeks I've been full. You'll get there. I wouldn't do cracked or anything crispy with sharp edges. Your tiny tummy may not like it.

I am 3 weeks post op & can start some soft foods now, but I don't feel full at all. I wish I did!! Did anyone else experience this? Will I feel full when I start on soft foods? Thanks & good luck to everybody!

Yes!!!! That's exactly what I do. And I also forget to eat, which is so strange for me.

I forget to eat too, no hunger and no cravings, it's so nice actually! As for the not feeling full, I don't feel that either but I'm just resigned to measuring my food, picking high Protein and knowing that's what I should have at this stage in the game. This week I start soft foods, so pumped to chew! Chew Chew!

Good luck y'all. Ps- I've lost 56 lbs since Nov. 19.. Mostly Water weight but isn't that just abnormally crazy? I think after the hell I've gone through, I'll take it and be proud!

Warmly,

Shelly

I'm 3 months post op and I also forget to eat. I'm going to be seeing the nutritionist for the first time after surgery in two weeks and now is definitely the time. Not only do I forget to eat (and drink enough water) but it seems to be so much work to get in the Protein drinks which I still supplement with because there's no way I can get enough Protein otherwise.

I still have a tendency to eat too fast which can cause nausea but it could be lack of Water as well. It's a work in progress for sure.

I start the day with a Protein Drink and often that's more than I can handle for Breakfast. Sometimes I'll have eggs (2) for lunch or crackers and cheese or yogurt and fruit with granola/cereal. Another Protein Drink and then supper. Not sure whether I'm getting enough calories or perhaps the wrong calories.

Hopefully, the nutritionist can give me some ideas.

Ruth

Hello it is my first time posting here.

I am 9 weeks out bypass and thought I was alone in how it has gone for me. To had hunger (stomach) from about day 3 of this surgery, that grew worse than what it had pre surgery! The pureed stage (4 weeks) was very difficult and I ended up doing mash potato with low fat cheese, milk and salad cream just to fill fuller.

Thankfully now I am on ordinary eating, but I can eat a tea plate size without any problem, along with able to eat most things, bread, Pasta, rice all meats etc. I do work hard at having high Protein meals and low carbs and find that more filling. Lost about 2.5 stone now.

I had a band fitted two weeks ago. It is very rare I ever feel full.

It may be a function of the type of surgery. I do not know if lap band surgery produces a feeling of being full.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
