Dmaddox1 I also start my liquids December 1 which will be my first day back from vacation so I will look forward to a 7 day detox LOL. My surgery date is December 8th. I am excited knowing this will be my last vacation being overweight shying from photos and I will make my weight goals next year

How you doing on the liquids? I can't seem to find a Protein Drink that is not icky! They are tolerable, but just have a horrible after taste and they are too thick. This is our 4th day of these drinks and I am already tired of them. How bout you?

I'm a newbie too. Just joined today. My surgery date is scheduled for December 29th. I am on week two of the pre-surgery diet and finding it to be a challenge. Shocker huh? How's everyone else doing with the waiting bit?

I'm doing better on the shakes! I finally (after spending a fortune on them) found one I could handle! I guess you could say the Unjury brand is my favorite! They seem to be lighter & not so milky like! I'm not a milk drinker anyways...so I like them! I am retired...so I throw them in my ninja with 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/2 cup Water & 4 ice cubes! Not a Sonic malt by any means...but I am not hating them so! How are you doing?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
