HELP !!!(or just listen)

Recommended Posts

I had my lap band surgery July 2005 at my lowest I lost 77 pounds

Had been exercising regularly..........then Nov 2006, for this reason or that

I got out of the exercise mode, back into eating mode,

and have since gained 20 pounds.

I have some restriction. Should I go get a small fill for more restriction?

I start a Boot Camp 3 days a week in June, hopefully that will get me back into the exercise mode.

Any words of wisdom out there? Words of encouragement? Words of scold?

:help:

Hi Sue! I think you've already scolded yourself enough, so I won't go there :youcandothis: I have yet to be banded, but personally, I think I would talk to my surgeon and see what his advice is. He probably would recommend a fill. You're getting back on the exercise band wagon! Spring has sprung, so you don't have to be confined indoors...you can get out and enjoy nature! You're making positive changes and catching yourself before you gained a large amount back. Now call the doc and tell him what's going on. My doc has stressed to me at every appointment that I MUST stay connected to the network of help he provides for optimal success.

Best of luck! You'll do it!

My advice is to keep a food and exercise journal for a week or so. If you have the facts in front of you, it's easier to determine where you may be slipping up. Then, take that information with you to your surgeon and/or your nutrionist. They can help you get back on track. Good luck!

The beauty of the band is it is there waiting on you to work with it. Now that your ready to get back on track, maybe a small fill would be beneficial, or maybe the boost of exercise is just what you need.

I'm impressed that you are getting back on track with a 20 lb weight gain, instead of it being 50. Your doing good and have the right mind set. I have read that everyone should have a set point of how much they allow themselves to gain, the expert say 5lbs, once you get up 5 lbs, start back tweaking your diet etc. So 20 lb is not that bad, and it won't take you that long to loose it with exercise.

I've made exercise a part of my life now and am on my 4th week of the Body For Life challenge,(working out 6 days a week) I honestly am seeing some muscles come out in my stomach area. And - I am getting collar bones. So, I am a firm believer in Exercise!

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
