What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)

A size XL at Old Navy was a wee too big. I haven't worn an XL for many years and now I can start to fit into L. Mind-blown!

I have two!

I had to buy new scrubs for work- an XL because my 3X scrubs were falling off!

I bought a dress from an online retailer (clothes come from China) I bought thinking it would be to small for another month or too- just tried it on today for fun and it fits!!

I am really excited at the changes! I will be 2 months on the 29th- I have lost 26 pounds since surgery- 44 pounds from my first weigh in at surgeon's office.

I included a picture from a week before surgery so you can compete-- I was making a worried face because I didn't want my sister to snap a picture. ????

*my toddler took the picture in the red polka dot dress it explains why I have no head. He is the only one home today to help me with a picture! post-249589-14483844311335_thumb.jpg post-249589-14483845160865_thumb.jpg post-249589-14483847915139_thumb.jpg

I am able to run almost 2 miles. That may not seem like much but for someone who loathes running, that is a big deal.

My panniculus is shrinking every week thanks to the running. And I can actually see my ribs!!!

I think the biggest thing for me is no longer obsessing over how long it's taking me to get to my goal weight. I can see it coming but more importantly I am healthier, stronger, and food no longer consumes my mind!

????????????

This is an oldie-but-goldie thread. Really worth reading for inspiration.

My recent non-scale victories (NSVs) include mostly clothing victories. I now wear (mostly):

* Size 4s in jeans and slacks. It's just freaky!

* Size smalls in jackets, coats and other random pieces

Occasionally, the size that fits me best is Petite Small or even a size 2. I cannot fathom how that works, since I'm 5'5" and weigh 138 pounds.

Boy, bodies are weird. But I'm a big fat sucker for single digit sizes. :)

I texted a picture of me skeetshooting to my sister and her family. My niece said I should send a picture of me. I said that is me. They didn't even recognize me. That was the best NSV.

My granddaughter got Baptized yesterday. I NEVER look forward to dressing up. I think stockings should be outlawed. Mine were easy to get into, loose but held tummy in. Tall boots that I purchased but only had on once as it is hard holding breath and leaning over same time. Slid on. Wow I felt like a million bucks. 1x instead of 3x is a huge miracle!

This is me! The difference is I like getting dressed up. I'm very girly and into fashion. It was just such a challenge at my old weight. I started at a 4x and was creeping up on 5's. I now wear a 1x and I pinch myself every time. I haven't been in that size in over 10 years! Things like this remind me that no matter how long it takes, this was the right thing for me.

Congrats everyone.

I hate stockings even more now because I struggle to get them to stay up! It used to be a struggle to squeeze into them and survive the day while feeling like a stuffed sausage casing! Lol i'll take saggy stockings though.

Haven't been in these boards in some time so just want to say I am glad to see everyone having great success. Keep up the good work everyone and Happy Thanksgiving.

At a recent family function three people didn't recognize me. One of my cousins asked me how did I know the family. Two others told me later that they didn't know who I was.

Last time I met everyone was in February.

But what really makes me the happiest is when I hear that I resemble my mom now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
