New jackets and/or coats?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone buying new jackets and/or coats this fall? I had to get rid of a couple of jackets, but am trying to get by with a couple of old ones. Coats are expensive and I worry about where I'll be next winter. Meanwhile, I look kind of sloppy. :-(

I'm not even close to goal and I'm swimming in my coats, dress pants and jeans. I kinda look like a hobo in my coat, but I can't imagine buying one only for a few months, so I plan to just suffer through it. The jeans thing, I plan to wear yoga and compression pants until winter is over. The dress pants thing, I'm going to have a few skirts taken in and try to get by.

I'm early yet so I'm still fitting in the ones that were getting too snug. That said when the time comes I will be buying new clothes here and there. I've never been about looking sloppy. In fact one of the thing people often asked me was how I dressed so nice a larger woman. I like looking cute and always will.

I will still fit in mine from last year that was snug. Next year will be new wardrobe time. Luckily I have kept clothes from size 16-22. So I'm ok for the next couple months. Lol but I'm a shopper. So I have no problem getting a new wardrobe every few months ????

I bought a really cute coat at Ross for less than $20.00. I haven't needed a coat in years, but without my extra 100 lbs of "insulation", I am freezing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
