clasnic1 36 Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) I don't watch my Calories very much, I watch my Protein and carbs levels. (that is what my doctor told me to watch) He wants me to get at least 30 grams Protein and no more than 30 of carbs. I usually start with 1 cup of Cereal (most generally Special K.) with just enough skim milk to cover it. Then maybe some lasagna without the noodles, or a rev. or tuna fish with maybe 1 tablespoon of mircle whip with olive oil, then for dinner I might have some haddock (broiled) with cottage cheese. Most generally I eat my protein first and that will fill me up. I am 6 weeks out. I am still on soft foods. I try to stay away from all pastas. They make me feel bloated and way to fill. I do use My Fitness Pal to keep up with my levels. It does tell me calories also. Edited November 9, 2014 by clasnic1

joatsaint 2,814 Posted November 9, 2014 At 6 weeks, I was eating 1/2 cup of food per meal, 6 - 7 times a day. My food was pretty boring - I ate almost the same thing every meal - my concoction of refried Beans, turkey hamburger and salsa. Here's the recipe: http://www.bariatricpal.com/blogs/entry/31168-my-favorite-mexican-food/ There would be some variation in my diet. At my office, there would always be some leftovers from meetings and I would eat a few pieces of fresh fruit or 1/4 - 1/2 of a sandwich for lunch. But Frankensleeve really didn't like it, so I primarily stuck with the refried Beans.< /div> I roughly estimated that I was eating 800 - 1000 calries a day. Being stuck at a certain weight for a week or two was normal for me. Eventually I learned that if I just stuck to my diet plan and kept up my walking, the weight would start dropping again. I did learn real quick that eating fruit would slow my weight loss, so I stuck to low glycemic vegetables and lean Protein as much as possible. I usually only eat about 1/3 to 1/2 cup at a meal. It will take a few more weeks for you to eat that much at a sitting. It took the full 12 weeks for me to get to that point. I would suggest that you keep eating what you can and supplement with Protein Shakes if you have too....and don't forget your Vitamins. Give yourself some time, you will get there and you will figure out a food plan that works for you You're doing great! No worries! I do crave savory though. If I am craving something naughty like Cheetos I eat a few and I'm satisfied.
