SleeveNik 21 Posted November 8, 2014 I'm a little confused as to when I can begin my work outs. I was sleeved on October 28th. Is it okay to begin cardio?
mz.newlife54 103 Posted November 8, 2014 Good question. I was going to wait two weeks and then start going to the gym to do treadmill.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted November 8, 2014 I was allowed to do walking right away, light weights (5 pound hand weights) at one month, sit-ups and ab work at six weeks.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted November 9, 2014 I was told I should walk as much as I can and could resume normal workouts at 6 weeks. I was cleared to jog at 3 weeks and I went back to full cardio and lifting at the 5 week mark.
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted November 9, 2014 I'm a little confused as to when I can begin my work outs. I was sleeved on October 28th. Is it okay to begin cardio? yes. You should start walking ASAP after surgery. Add exercises as you start to feel better. I do mostly Water aerobics so I had to wait for all my incisions to close and the biggest one took a little longer. I went back at 2½ weeks post op. Just be careful if your incisions are closed. joatsaint 2,814 Posted November 9, 2014 My doc wanted me walking for at least 30 minutes a day from my first day home. At the end of 1 month, I was released to do weight exercies.
