Bruce Peter 39 Posted November 8, 2014 I have done all my diet appointments (4 months), gotten a sleep study and a cpcp machine, blood work which turned up diabetes and now I wait for insurance (Aetna) I think my chances are pretty good since I had the band and removed it. I also have two co-morbities with a BMI of ~ 36. It's been two weeks so far. Wish me luck

Bruce Peter 39 Posted November 10, 2014 Cpap has been good. I'm still not used to it, but it's getting better.

***** 155 Posted November 10, 2014 I have a resmed, I forget the model number. It's the cpap though, not the bipap. I really like it. I've been using it since June. It literally changed me overnight.
Bruce Peter 39 Posted November 11, 2014 The doctor wants me to come back with the memory card for "mandatory compliance"?? Any idea what that is all about?
GreenEyes604 753 Posted November 11, 2014 @@Bruce Peter The memory card has extremely detailed information on it which tells the doctor how often you're using it, how long you use it, if your mask has any air leakage, etc. It tells the doctor whether or not you're using the machine like you should be. @ I have the newest version of the ResMed CPAP and I absolutely love it! I haven't been sleeved yet (coming in December) but it has definitely changed my sleeping for the better.
Bruce Peter 39 Posted November 11, 2014 I see. They can read that from the card, right? My doctor is in NYC and they are telling me I have to travel to them with the card. I'm annoyed with that. I asked them if I could just send them the data, but they said no. It's a 5 hour round trip in the middle of the day. I don;t see why they need me. The doctor won;t be there anyway, just the staff
***** 155 Posted November 11, 2014 They should be able to read it from the data and if traveling is inconvenient you should definitely ask about that. I think early on they're concern is that you'll not use it because it is a change and takes some getting used to.

Bruce Peter 39 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) That makes sense. I'm going to send the data in. I don't see a reason why I need to be present . Thanks, guys and gals Edited November 11, 2014 by Bruce Peter
