@@TanTan82, I feel where you are coming from. At my heaviest I was 368, and have had 2 c-sections. I've also worried about loose skin, but I spoke with my massage therapist and she gave me a recipe for a homemade scrub that helps tighten and moisturize skin. I've actually been doing it for the past 2 weeks and I am noticing a difference. You take a handful of coffee grounds, brown sugar, and sea salt, 3 teaspoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, apply it all over your body in an upward motion, concentrating on the main problem areas, and it does help. It adds moisture and elasticity to your skin, helping it to snap back. I haven't lost a pound but I am losing inches, and that's exactly what I want, and i started early so I can try to really tighten up well and not have a bad case of the saggies after surgery! Hope this helps you too

Dec. 17 th for me , just got my approval date. This will be best weekend , I am so excited, I'm BCBS of NC, they have been amazing. dr. Torquati at Duke is doing my sleeve. I am 5' 5" and weight of 229 . I have been doing a liquid diet for a couple days a week since fist of Oct. I think it will help me when I have to start my pre surgery liquid diet. That will probably be the hardest part of this whole journey , but I Got This! Good luck to all.

Much luck to you.... Why have you been doing the liquid diet so early - mine advised 2-3 weeks prior to surgery.

Got MY DATE! December 30th!

Got a call from the surgeon begining of the week, making sure I had most of my tests done, they saw openings in December, I got very excited.... He called today, said only December 30th ... I really wish it was earlier, i was soooo prepared... Maybe better after the holidays, but i'll be on a liquid diet over Christmas.

Was supposed to go away after New Years, so I cancelled... this is way more important.

I'm a tad nervous now, making sure i have all my tests ready and my shakes in order.

Still unsure which shakes I'm purchasing...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
