So I'm 8 days post op. Im nervous about not getting enough Protein in. I don't wanna lose hair lol. Soooo, is it too early for me to get the tasteless protein to mix in my broth and stuff? And how many calories should I be getting in daily? As of now I'm only getting 500 to 600.

You are fine calorie wise 8 days post op. I'm 6 months out, I typically get in 1000 to 1200 calories. Honestly you might lose hair regardless of Protein intake. Anesthesia can cause Hair loss as well.

Having said that, I'd ask your nutritionist if you are okay to add Protein powder at this stage. Some people are on stricter schedules than others. If you can tolerate Isopure, you might try it. It is a clear liquid. Comes in tea, fruit and coconut, which is my personal favorite flavor. U njury also makes a chicken Soup flavored Protein

I would check with your surgeon only because each one has their own specific instructions. I was not allowed to add Protein until week 2 and even that it's one Protein Drink (30 g) a day.

my surgeon had me on Protein Shots day 2. Not very tasty, I have to mix with crystal light then I am able to sip them down. they are 42 grams of Protein each. I have the fruit punch and need to get in 2 a day to meet my 70 grams per day that my surgeon wants me to have. You can find these at Walmart.< /p>

I got the Unjury one in a tasteless flavor. My doctor gave me the go head to mix it in whatever. Sooo I mixed it into my Dannon light and fit yogurt which has 12 grams of Protein. That made it a total of 33 grams of protein because a scoop of the unjury is 21 grams.

GENEPRO protein!! It's tasteless and dissolves great in anything. No clumps, no aftertaste. And 30 grams of Protein per 1 tablespoon. I bought it on Amazon.

I'm 8 days out and put Isopure in everything. It's not bad and 27g of Protein a scoop. You can mix it with anything. Just heat your warm foods first and then add it in or it looks like a science project gone bad.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
