Jennifer Rogers 111 Posted November 5, 2014 Hey guys, my husband and I went to a little chain diner known around SC. The Clock. How in the world do I log what I ate from there? I ordered chicken salad (no bread, no anything, and of course, I have LOTS leftover.). But I have no idea what ingredients they use. ???? I feel kinda dumb asking, but I really don't know how to do this. Thanks!
Recycled 2,182 Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Relax, it's not like medicine dosages or anything. Just get it close. Guess the weight, light, dark, skinless, no creamy dressings etc etc. A few grams of seasoning is not gonna make a big difference. You're doing it right stayin away from the fried breading and the unhealthy sides. In this case, close is good enough. <3 Carolina Girl <3 84 Posted November 5, 2014 Hey!!! I have barely seen others from SC here. I'm near Charleston. Just wanted to say hi, neighbor!
Rogofulm 2,440 Posted November 5, 2014 Have you started using http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ (MFP) yet? They don't have nutritional information specific to The Clock, but they have lots of restaurant grilled chicken salads listed. Pick one that's probably close to the one you had. As with all salads, though, most of the calories are in the dressing. For example: Longhorn Steak House has great salads, right? But if you look at the nutritional info on their dressings, their Balsamic Vinaigrette is 270 calories with 29 grams of fat. Yikes! Add that to a steak salad and you're up near 1,000 calories in one meal! By comparison, their Bleu cheese dressing "only" has 160 calories and 15 grams of fat. But the Raspberry Vinaigrette has only 60 calories and 0.5 grams of fat, plus 14 grams of carbs. So if you haven't already, do try logging your food on MFP. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to track your daily intake and exercise. Good luck!

Jennifer Rogers 111 Posted November 6, 2014 And I wanted to clarify...the kind of chicken salad I had is the kind that you would normally put on a sandwich. Mixed with mayo, onions, etc. I only had about 1Tbls, but I wanted to make sure I track every bite I put in my mouth.
chellede 352 Posted November 6, 2014 Also call them !!!! Most restaurants have nutritional information. Call them and ask them for the nutritional info on what you ate. Then divide it by what you ate of it
