Off, daily before and after shower. Strangely enough, it almost always goes down about .4 after the shower unless I wash my hair. Obviously I take the lower weight and write that down.

@@woo woo. Shoot, I'll take the lower weigh too! I'm going to try that, weighing before and after showering. Just to see if it's the same with me. Who knows, maybe a few ounces gets washed away with the soap and hot Water. Hahahaha...

My husband has the exact same thing happen. We have decided just that -- that it must be dirt, oil or whatever is washed off. Seems crazy but it's true at least in our house. :P

@@finediva, if you really want to see a drop in Water weight, go for an extra long walk (like 6 miles) at a normal pace, nothing strenuous. When you get back, soak in a hot bath with epsom salt in the water. Dry off and weigh again. It is astonishing.

Really? I'm going to try that out this weekend. But does the weight stay off or the scale reads the same the next day? Just curious how it works out for you.

I don't own a scale. I weigh myself at work, on Friday, fully clothed, with shoes (or boots). I try to do it when I first get there, but that's after I've had coffee and sometimes Breakfast. But sometimes I don't remember to weigh until after lunch or right before going home. I really don't care about a pound or two (or more) difference due to not pooping that morning or clothes or Water weight or whatever I Ate for lunch. It's the long term, downward trend that matters. Worrying about small daily fluctuations is the cause of a lot of distress for a lot of people on here. Relax. Trust the process. Stop obsessing over the numbers and Enjoy the journey.

It's only Water weight (the Epsom salts dehydrate you and is something athletes do to temporarily "make weight" before an event) so as soon as you drink a bunch of water and rehydrate, the scale will read the same as before. These numbers don't matter. It's the fat weight you are trying to lose and no amount of Epsom salts will get rid of fat. (Although the walking 6 miles is a good idea)

I only weigh twice a month, clothes and shoes on, which is also how I'm weighed at hospital check-ups. I have been dieting on and off for 50 years (I started young!) and I have finally learned that obsessing over the scales or trying to 'cheat' them by dehydrating etc is absolutely pointless. I am looking at the long term and fat loss and it's nice to have a noticeable difference each time I weigh. In between weigh-ins I can feel the difference in my clothes so I'm confident that I am changing shape and continuing to lose.

What @@Kindle said is accurate. It is just Water weight that you will lose and it is only temporary. It's a nice trick to use if you have an event and feel bloated and squishy. =)

When I do it, it's for the effect the epsom salts have on muscle soreness; a drop in Water weight it just a pleasant side effect, especially if you are really pushing lots of fluids to stay hydrated. The hot, salt bath will give you a temporary view of your weight without water retention. Same effect you'd get spending $100 bucks for a weight loss wrap in order to squeeze into a dress or garment.

No scales for me! For the first 3 months I will only be weighed at the doctors office after I have my surgery. I am one who will obsess about the number on the scale, therefore I have taken the 'No Scale' pledge!

Clothes off, first thing in the morning. When you first get up in the morning Your Water weight in your body is about the same on a daily basis.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
