ThinnerMe2015 14 Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) What kind of questions do they ask you in the psych test, I heard some are multiple question, is this true? Tell me what kind of things do they ask, is it trick questions? Are they just trying to see if your giving rehearsed answers or answer you think they wanna hear? Someone please give me a little heads up so I can kind of know what to expect. Thanks In Advance Edited November 4, 2014 by ThinnerMe2015
Jonathan Blue 311 Posted November 4, 2014 I have found in talking with multiple people that every doctor does their psych eval differently. Some use a multiple choice test while other just sit down and talking with you. If they talk with you, most of the questions will be about your past and why you feel you gained the weight. Most of the multiple choice questions will sound ridiculous. The biggest piece of advice is to just be yourself and don't worry. Not a ton of people are rejected just on this. We all have little things we would love to hind on these evals, but they are being used for a reason. Just let the process work. I promise you it will work out in the end. Judyr 57 Posted November 4, 2014 My experience was great. We talked, she basically wanted to make sure I was fully aware of what I was doing, the changes it will make in my life, and was I prepared. We discussed how my family was supportive, but that I had a couple of friends who were not. She gave me insight into how to handle that. If you are married, you will need to understand the changes that could affect your relationship. The Dr. Is just interested in knowing if you have thought this completely through and are prepared. The Dr is also there is answer any questions you may have.
Dhdhshhshd 42 Posted November 5, 2014 I did a computerized test and went back a week later to review the results with the psychologist. They basically want to make sure you're mentally and emotionally stable and ready for the surgery. No questions on the test were specific to the procedure, just more about how I was feeling. I was a little worried, but it was no issue at all. Good luck!
