Proud to announce that I will be a Sleever on November 17th!

Recommended Posts

Finally got a date.

Very excited - and so far on day 2 I have not hurt anyone on the pre-op diet! ha

I only have liquids for Breakfast and have 3-4 oz of fish or chicken with green raw(2 cups) or cooked (1 cup) veggies for both lunch and supper.

And all the sugar free Jello I can eat!

I'm on the 17th as well. I had my presurgery tests last week. I'm getting so nervous that my sleeve date is quickly approaching.

So far I'm doing OK on the liquid diet, although it's hard. It's even harder when someone brings sweets into work and you can't have any . Overall, I'm surviving. Luckily, I have great support at home and my family is on the liquid diet with me at dinner.

Good luck with your surgery!

I'm scheduled for the 17th as well! I'm on day 2 of the pre-op liquid diet and I have to admit it's been really hard. Feeling kinda weak and have had a headache from hades!! Hoping this will pass soon! Congrats on getting your date!!! Best wishes!!

I'm getting sleeved on Nov. 17th, too. I start my pre op diet Monday the 10th and am apprehensive about the liquid diet. I know i can do it, but geesh!!! I think its a mind thing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
