Feeling good...can I start the next stage diet?

That makes complete sense. Did you sleeve or bypass? I think that makes a big difference too. I'm RNY. I didn't mean to question your NUTS instructions, I hope it wasn't taken like that. It's just so different from mine in Canada. Maybe they push the Protein here in Canada because its so effin' cold! Lol keep going lady, you're doing great!

I didn't take it that way at all. I questioned my NUT's philosophy too because everyone on this forum is on Protein shakes and it just seems easier. I got the VSG. Thanks for the support!!! :D

I am 11 days post op. I would certainly not try pizza... But I have had some Soup with veggies in it. Even had chili that was minced and very thin. I have had zero issues with it. I never eat more than 1/4 cup of anything. I'm supposed to start soft foods Thursday. But have are broccoli soup and veggie soup for about 3 days now. Everyone's wait times vary per surgeon. I told my case manager what I was eating when she called... She asked me if I was a nurse. Lol I said yes, she said she could tell. We really are the worst patients ????

Also u shouldn't be too concerned with Sodium intake at 7 days post op. Dehydration is still a very serious risk. It's good to retain a little Water. Especially when it's soooo hard getting ur whole recommended intake ! Good luck to u!!

You don't want to jump ahead to purees anyhow. They suck hard. FWIW, I was on purees immediately upon coming home from the hospital per my plan. Purees were the longest week of my life. Lol.

I'm having no problem eating anything... except for bacon. Bacon causes heart burn.

I'm still drinking the Protein shakes daily but I have found that I can eat almost anything. I've taken my surgery very seriously. Everyone responds differently. Frankly I don't see why people stick to such a strict regimen if the stomach can handle normal foods.

I just got in from finishing a total of 12.9 miles today.

One thing that might be very different for me is I was only 54 pounds over weight. I've healed very, very quickly. I'm also very active. I was active before the surgery and active after the surgery. 12.9 miles is a lot to do in one day, but I'm back up there again. The weight is still flying off.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
