*Lexie* 1,486 Posted November 3, 2014 I'm about 6 weeks out from surgery. I have gone through what I refer to as the liquid weakness. I moved on to soft and learned that bread is the devil and causes me severe pain. I learned what the slimes are (but thankfully have not vomited). And luckily everyone around me survived my first stall (I was a little crazy). I feel like I'm finding my groove now. I now know when to stop eating so I don't get overly full which is a horrible feeling after surgery. I feel good enough to get some intensity in my workouts. I am making good choices (before surgery I really never believed I would give up Pasta ever) and the foods that used to have a hold on me no longer seem as important. And this way of eating is starting to feel more normal and comfortable. I'm feeling pretty good right now. So for all of you going through anything I mentioned above, keep in mind that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
juls0102 33 Posted November 3, 2014 I was sleeved on Oct. 7. I'm sooooo sick of pureed foods. I'd rather not eat. Protein Shakes make me gag. I'm living on scrambled eggs, tuna salad, chicken salad, and chili. I'm so ready to be able to actually chew my food. =) I do feel great though. I'm glad you're doing so well. I can do this!!! I haven't tried bread yet....I'm going to hold out as long as possible. I really want a steak. lol
Jake.B 14 Posted November 3, 2014 I am in the same boat and I miss food in general lol. I think the thing that gets me the most is the smell of spices. I am so tired of Protien shakes. I did try a piece of toast, but that made me feel so full that I could not fit any protien in there. I am at this stage that I get the hiccups a lot. Its a huge learning curve! We can do it! NotWishWhen512 31 Posted November 4, 2014 Sleeved 10/7 and feel very lucky that I haven't had that much of a hard time. However, I feel nauseated A LOT and no food tastes great to me. Things are settling and I don't get sick, but just feel gross (after eating.) i know it's all just an adjustment, but sometimes I wish I didn't have to eat at all. Who thought i'd EVER say that?!! KotikEve 3 Posted November 4, 2014 Lauren - dairy became enemy#1 for me as well... Never had issues before - but there was a period when i gave dairy up for a few months togethernw other food groups and i felt better, so perhaps i had a mild reaction to it after-all. Still. I love yogurt, kefir, cottage cheese - but now - after a half a bite my stomach hurts and clearly unhappy. So im stopping dairy for now. Mozzarella sticks on the other hand - feel very good. Learning to listen to my guts;)
*Lexie* 1,486 Posted November 4, 2014 @@KotikEve The slimes I mentioned above were after eating 1 mozzerella stick. I won't be trying that again for a while.

Learning to listen to my guts;) Yes it takes a very small bite to upset the stomach on dairy products.. Feel like I'm 8months preggo.. So far today I have had NO dairy and feel ok.. So I think that's the culprit.. I do take protonix once a day..
