I put a lil moose in it before drying my hair. It will stop when your body adjusts.

I've had thin hair forever -- long before I even thought about this surgery. I use Nioxin Shampoo and conditioner and it's helped my regrowth. I'm scheduled for surgery on 11/10 and I'm already dreading the expected hair loss--it has to be rough when you don't have a lot to start with!

I already had thin hair prior to surgery so this really sucks. I do have the Topik. I need to go get a lighter color now that I have less hair for it to blend with. Has anyone tried the clip in hair extensions?

I use hair extensions every time I go out. They work fine and look good . There's pictures of me with and with out extensions. Hopes this helps

My hair was more than 14 inches long when I cut it last week. My hair had been coming out at an alarming rate but luckily I had it to spare. Oddly it's stopped falling out since it was cut from my waist to my chin (graduated bob). I'm not sure why this has happened. I'm saying absolutely nothing helpful here...lol.

I haven't had surgery yet but getting close, but a lady I was talking too said she just cut hers short and she never noticed any Hair loss, I am wondering if the weight of the long hair also helps make it fall out. My son in law had the surgery and he too never lost any hair. I have my wig on stand by. LOL should I need it. Good luck to all.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
