Core Power Protein Drinks?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else used the Core Power Protein drinks? I have tried the chocolate one and it is really very good. But I was wondering if it is an acceptable way to get your Protein post-op. :/ It has 26 grams of protein, 28 carbs and 3.5 grams of fat. Is that a lot of carbs? I have not had surgery yet and was looking for some decent tasting drinks.< /p>

That is definitely quite a lot of carbs. In particular I would also be concerned about how many of those carbs come from sugar. I would highly recommend you try Isopure Zero Carb powders or pre-mixed drinks. They taste great and some flavors are fruitier and can be mixed with Water very easily and still taste good. I have found that most of the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ones taste better with milk of some kind. The beauty is each scoop has 25g of Protein and no carbs. I would definitely say you need to check this out.

You may be able to handle those carbs fine now, but after surgery all that will change. Better to get used to not getting as many now.

I supplement with PREMIER Protein drinks. They are 30g of Protein, but just 4 g carbs. They taste good. costco, Safeway, Walgreens. Amazon, too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
