I saw Dr Q back in May 2013. I have lost 100 pounds and still losing inches. I went alone so I was really scared but as soon as I met Dr Q and his staff I was completely at ease. They were so warm and caring. Before I chose him I had taken a list of 4 surgeons to my regular Dr and asked her to do some research and she told me that Dr Q was the best from my list and that he was highly educated in gastric surgeries. I highly recommend him.

I just had my sleeve surgery with Dr. Quinones on October 23, 2014. His staff is great and I love the nurses! I didn't have hardly any pain afterwards and just a little gas pain. One of the staff even took me for a walk outside so I could get some fresh air. I went alone and was well taken care of from beginning to end. I do recommend Dr. Quinones and his staff.

My personal experience with Dr. Q and his staff was amazing. I'm thrilled with my decision and would make it again in a heartbeat. I traveled alone from SC (my choice, not my husband's, LOL) and never felt concerned about it.

I eat clean, lots of veggies, good quality Protein, fruit, and avoid as much processed food as I can though I do make conscious decisions to enjoy some other things at time. The gym at 4:30am is my friend as I know I'm actually going to make it there and I love having it to myself and the podcasts on my iPhone.

The sleeve is an amazing tool and I'm so glad I chose Dr. Q to help me.

I think they are both very good in this price range. There are better hospitals and surgeons but they are both more than competent.

Price wasn't a deciding factor for me and I still chose Dr. Quinones. I definitely could've paid more for an American-style hospital setting but that wasn't important, the surgeon was.

Yes, I was sleeved by Dr. Lopez on 11/3/14. All went well. No complications. You can read more through my posts about my experience.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
