PROTEIN PUDDING! OMG!

Recommended Posts

I'm 6 days post op and surprisingly getting my fluids in without a problem. The issue I'm having is trying to get in my Protein since I'm since in full liquid diet phase. I've never gotten more than 40 grams Protein in one day which is frustrating because I know the more protein I get in - the better I'll feel. My NUT suggested protein pudding and ohmergawd it's amazing!

1 packet of sugar free vanilla instant pudding (or any flavor your little heart desires)

2 scoops of Isopure Creamy vanilla (or which ever flavor your have)

2 cups of Skim milk

Whisk for 3 minutes or until it sets. Separate into 5 small containers.

Servings 5

Protein: 10 g

I love Protein pudding. I'm on real foods and I still have some in the evening as my "treat."

Sounds like something I am going to try... Has anyone put it in a ice cream cone...not the sugar or waffle ... The other... They are 10 calories... Put the pudding right inside the cone!!

Thanks for the recipe. I will be sleeved on the 4th and I'm worried about what I'll eat during the two week full liquid stage. My plan calls for pudding but I didn't think about adding Protein Powder to it.

That sounds great! I'm always trying to find creative ways to incorporate Protein powder. I use vanilla powder in my pancake batter, and add unflavored powder in many casseroles. I'm over 10 months out and I still indulge in things from my liquid and pureed stages.... Premier chocolate and banana smoothie, muscle milk red velvet cake with caramel Torani Syrup, vanilla PB 2 shake, split pea Soup, and my favorite pudding of all....cottage cheese blended with milk and Muscle Milk Cake Batter protein powder. Tastes just like cheesecake and loaded with protein.

I also use almost this same recipe to make ice cream in my Ninja. It is awesome!

I've been making similar Protein pudding almost daily (I have about 20 boxes on-hand  ). I use the Carbmaster milk + unsweetened almond milk + greek yogurt + Protein powered (sometimes flavored, sometimes not, depending on the pudding).

I eat the pudding throughout the day as my treat between meals. It's soooo good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
