I am 5 weeks post and lately it seems like I am tired all the time. This weekend I went to bed at 11pm and didn't get up until 10-11am. Is any one else having this problem? Does it mean I am dehydrated?

I felt the same way at five weeks. It took a good few months to get my energy back.

I'm only 12 days out, but I've felt wonderful from the day I came home until about 3 days ago, and my butt is draggin. I, too, can't seem to get enough sleep. I don't even have enough energy to get my walks in which is weighing heavily on my mind. I go to my first post op appt. on Tuesday, and besides beginning stage 2 foods, my energy level is going to be a major discussion. Good luck to you and I hope you start feeling more peppy soon.

I feel you...When I got home from surgery, I was feeling great, like I didn't even have surgery. Then a couple weeks went by and it hit me. After work, I'm just too tired to do anything. On the weekends, it's even worse. I sleep like 10-12 hours a night. Since I wake up late, I can't get in all the Protein I need to get in. I think part of the problem is I need to force myself to wake up earlier so I can start eating earlier in order to get all the food and Water I need to get in. When you start your day at 10-11am, it's hard to do that. My goal this week; to wake up earlier, to walk, and start an exercise routine. I did do some squats and resistance band exercises last Sunday. I felt the burn. I was sore all week from that exercise! I just need to keep it consistent and do something active every day!

I did nap alot for several weeks following surgery and I am not a napper. The surgery coupled with the reduced caloric intake is alot for your body to endure whether you feel this immediately or not.

Your body will get balanced out eventually and you'll start feeling normal again.

Just be sure to rest when you need to. It is a recovery process!

I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I'm also exhausted. Also irritable and emotional. This is a big surgery and change. I'm trying - with different degrees of success - being patient with myself. Thanks for the thread - It's good to know I'm not the only tired one!

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow as well and still tired. I could sleep 12-13 hours or maybe even more if no one woke me up.

I go back to work tomorrow! Eek!

I just wanna stay in bed, but I guess I need to pay bills and work lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
