Sample Clear Liquid Diet

Recommended Posts

post-236213-1414938768317_thumb.jpg

Tomorrow is my surgery and here is the sample of the Clear liquids diet my doctor gave me. My friend who had the sleeve with the same doctor said it's almost impossible to get it all in at the beginning. I am also using powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth so hopefully it will help getting the Protein in at the beginning because I am worried about hair loss.

I was never worried about getting in enough Protein or calories at the beginning. Frankensleeve would not tolerate ANY foods my 1st 10 days. I literally ate 1/2 sugar free popsicle per day that 1st week. And then I was only eating 3/4 can of Soup per day for weeks and weeks.

I figured I had plenty of calories stored in my fat to keep me alive for 6+ months! :-P

I did the best I could to get in enough Water, then Protein.

Just do the best you can in the beginning, and as your new stomach heals, increase the amount of Water and protein you're eating.

P.S. My hair thinned considerably around 6 months, but it came back with a vengeance a few months later. :-P

It's been 22 months post-op, last week I went in for a haircut and notice my barber using the hair thinning scissors on me for the 1st time since surgery - NSV!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
