How to heat protein powder?

Recommended Posts

I've searched and searched. I want to add unflavored Protein powder to my hot chocolate. How do I do that without it curdling? Thanks!

I ordered Protein sample packs from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury.

Included a chicken Soup flavor. The instructions said to not heat above 140 degrees and advised to use a food thermometer.

Hope that is helpful.

I make a Protein coffee each day. What I do is mix my Protein with about 2 oz. of soy milk in my Ninja, usually the night before to use the next morning. I do this so it will settle and not be foamy. In the morning I brew a cup of coffee in my Keurig and add the protein mix. It blends great! Yes, the mix is a bit cold but not too bad the coffee is still hot.

Use Piping Rock unflavored Protein. I have not had a problem with "cottage cheese" by using this. It is also cheapest protein I have found. It is my absolutely favorite protein, and it can be used with liquid heated in the micro for about 1 min without curdling.

I use GENEPRO powder in Soup and no curdling or clumping and I heat it up! But I want to try a sample pack of different cocoa and coffee from bariatric pantry because I'd pay more to have it premixed if it tasted awesome!

You could check some of theirs out? I'm ready to try Decaf coffee with Protein... Maybe today.

I'd say you are doing really good. I don't know if this is the right answer for you, but at that stage I focused on Water, Vitamins, and Protein - in that order. I don't know if I was actually getting 4 oz at each meal although the broth did go down like Water. I just focused on getting in more and more Protein each day. I never added protein to my Soups. I just drank Protein shakes. It starts to get much easier to get the required protein and water in each day.

Best of luck!

I just had almond/coconut milk with unjury.

Used the chocolate splendor flavor mixed in a bottle then heated up with a sprig of whip cream.

Heaven on earth and 20+ grams Protein,

Warm things sure feel better and go down easier!

No clumping at all. I didn't make it super hot but it sure was good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
