I am having surgery November 5th so I am looking for shakes with a good amount of Protein, not a big fan of milk, seen the Kellogg to go Breakfast shake mixes wondering if anyone has tried them? How about adding ice and blending it? Also I bought the PB2 powder and was thinking about adding it... Are these things I can do once I get home from the hospital?

Please help...

I like them but my nut says they have too many carbs. After surgery for a 6-12 oz Protein supplement:

Protein: 20-25 grams

Total Carbs: 5 grams

Total fat: 3 grams

I did use them before surgery though.

I highly recommend the Isopure Zero Calorie shakes. They have some great flavors for mixing with Water like pineapple orange banana and mango peach. These are really worth looking into. Another one that a lot of people like without milk would be some of the fruitier nectar brand powders.< /p>

I agree on the Isopure. I bought the premade black tea with lemon and mix it half and half with regular iced tea. It tastes like the Lipton iced tea packets.

Grocery store Breakfast shakes are pure crap. You would be better off drinking plain milk.

I did not care for the flavor of any of the whey Proteins so I have no suggestions for them. I enjoyed the Spiru-tien shakes.< /p>

I found Premiere Protein Shakes offered the most Protein for the fewest calories. They are pre-made and available at Sam's Club and costco. I began using them prior to surgery. I stopped them after my one year checkup with my bariatric doctor, at their recommendation.

My surgery is scheduled for 11/10. I'm on week 2 of my 2 week diet. Just bought quite a few Atkins shakes from Wally - World (Walmart). They're on sale now 6 for the price of 4. I believe they have 1g of Carbs.

I bought mine on Vitamin shoppes website. Free shipping and a coupon brought the case down to $39.95

It is easier for me to drink than thick Protein shakes.

I drink a half of one a day, sometimes one each day. Depending on my Protein intake. Some days I'm not interested in eating much

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
