Idk what hubble bubble is. The problem with smoking is that it hinders the healing process. It'll slow it down and the healthy tissue takes longer to regenerate. So hold off on smoking for fewer to no healing complications. But again.... Idk what hubble bubble is, that may not even be relevant for ur situation...

WOW, I'm surprised that your surgeon is even allowing you have surgery and still smoke. I met a lady at the gym the other day that has the same surgeon as I do. She's a smoker and I'm not. She told me that our doctor refused to even consider doing her surgery as long as she was smoking. The doctor said she had to have documented proof that she had not smoked within 90 days of surgery.

Apparently smoking and surgery is nothing to play around with.

Hubble Bubble smoking is also known as Hoo kah @Jen - a work in progress

Its the big bubble looking thing that you put Water in the bottom and it has a bowl on top for coals and smoking tubes that come out the sides.

I think that smoking is smoking and it's going to hinder your healing and therefore is not allowed. Just my educated guess though.

I imagine hookah is out, as you get far more bad stuff with each inhale, than you do smoking cigarettes.

my surgeon doesn't allow it either. They actually blood test you for nicotine right before surgery. If they detect it = no surgery. They tell you that up front though. No surprise tests and the end of all your hard work, you know that it's coming.

I also smoke Nargilah (known as hooka.h in the States) on a regular basis. No issue here.

Allowed? I don't know any doctor that would tell you it's okay to smoke.

I restarted my nargilah usage over the summer.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
