@Nusigirl06: sorry to hear that you have to wait, like Auntjanny said keep busy don't let this pull you back. Focusing on something else like building your arm muscles, taking Biotin so your hair doesn't thin out to much, things I would have done before hand if only I knew or was told. I pushed my surgery 6 months out after getting approval and kept myself busy it will go by fast.

I'm we over 5'. 5'1". Your blog here is supportive. May I join the conversation? I'm 16 months out from sleeve. Lost 80 down to 145. I'm 52 yrs. dr says to get to 135 then I have 10-15 pounds of old skin that won't go away unless surgery. I have been lazy about exercise, Water, Protein, vits and it is catching up. All my bloodwork is fine. I have maintained for 4 months need to get serious and remember I'm not at goal yet and get moving.

Are you having a hard time with the last 10 pounds? I'm in the same boat but I stopped going to the gym and slowly starting back up. When I was hitting the gym 2-3 times a week I lost a lot of weight, so to lose my last 10ish pounds I know hitting the gym again is must. I also found that tricking my body helps. I didn't eat bread, pasta or any white cabs for 7 months then slowly ate them for a week or so small bits then totally stopped again and started losing again. Just letting you know what worked for me

I am 5' even. I should be done with everything and ready for submission to the insurance company by Dec 5th!! I'm hoping to have my surgery the last week of January! A girl can hope right ???? I'm excited about it! And it's good to know I'm not the only shortie going through this. Most of the people I've talked to who have had it are 5'5" or taller

Fingers crossed

The weight will start of slow but if you keep yourself busy exercising it will fall of pretty fast. Just my experience in 3 months I lost about 75ish. But I kept moving. On my 6 month I went on a cruise to Alaska and I did fine in fact I lost 10 pounds on the cruise we did a lot of walking and still hit the gym on the boat plus ate really nice no preparing my meals stuck to my Protein. Keep up the losing it only gets better. BTW going on two other cruises in Dec and June can't wait!!

I'm 4'11", but I always say I am 5'. I was sleeved close to 8 weeks ago and have lost about 25 pounds (I don't closely track it). I'm walking, but have not made it to the gym yet. Good luck, everyone!

Keep up the losing and keep moving!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
