Tablets and capsules

Recommended Posts

Hi, My sleeve is booked for late November. I take other medications including capsules and tablets. Will I be able to get them down?

I was told not to take anything bigger than a baby aspirin for a month. I have switched some of my Vitamins to sublinguals and take a multi capsule from Bariatric Advantage. The capsule is bigger, but it breaks apart as soon as it hits your stomach (that's what I was told).

I was told together tablets and non time release then crush everything the first 6 weeks except the chewable a and liquids etc. personally I'm afraid to take the pills since we can just sip so I'm find with crushing them if needed for as long as needed .

I can't swallow pills for 3 months. All my Vitamins are chewable or sublingual. Any capsules I open up and eat with a spoon of yogurt. Anything else would have to be crushed.

I take multiple medications in capsule and pill form and had zero pill taking restrictions. In the hosp there were a few I put off taking for a few days, then when I was released home I could take them again 1 at a time over the course of a 5 min apart. Now I am back to being able to take them as I did prior all in 1 fell swoop per dose. The first 2 months was a slow go but I'm back to normal ńow. I also had a hiatial hernia repair with my sleeve Be patient and as to my Vitamin I take the opurity chewable and use a pill cutter to cut it into 4 pieces and chew 1 at a time as it's too powdery for me to chew it all at once.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
