juls0102 33 Posted October 28, 2014 I am 3 weeks post op today. I'm having a hard time getting my Water in. I can drink unsweet tea fine but I would love to squeeze a lemon wedge in my Water for a little taste but I'm afraid about the acid and my new stomach. Should I wait until I'm not at the pureed stage anymore?
par1959 470 Posted October 28, 2014 On day 1. Its considered a clear liquid. I enjoy cutting up whole fruit including lemon to put into my 1/2 gal picture of Water.< /p>
Nicole Cloud 39 Posted October 28, 2014 everyone is different but when I tried lemon in Water about 2 to 3 weeks in I had extremely bad acid reflux so in my opinion would wait on lemon but other fruits with less acidity should be fine also try some crystal lite it helped me because I had problems with plain water. AvaFern 3,516 Posted October 28, 2014 You can have lemon in your Water now as long as it doesn't bother you. The Water dillutes it so much that you don't need to worry about the acid hurting your stomach. If it gives you acid reflux, stop drinking it, but if it doesn't, enjoy! georgiare 63 Posted October 28, 2014 My postop diet includes whatever flavors I feel the need to use outside of sugar on week 1, no pulp or chunks, but strained lemon juice is on my list.
Bryan Graeve 50 Posted October 28, 2014 No problems here with lemons
Crha 1 Posted October 28, 2014 I haven't had surgery as of yet, but find the Crystal Lite gives me awful heartburn on a regular day...lemon in my Water never does....
geeky gal 5 Posted October 29, 2014 My liquid diet post surgery is any liquid (except caffeine, carbonated or alcohol)--does not have to be clear! Soups are fine as long as there are no lumps and even yogurt if no lumps or seeds! They said you get more nutrients that way, you feel better and it doesn't hurt your sleeve.
